Just as a thought exercise, what do you mean by “current true first line player”? Do you really mean one of the 96 best forwards in the NHL? Or do you mean a star player putting up near a point per game?

I’m sure Hall will play fine, probably better than in Buffalo, but he still isn’t a “power forward winger” any more than a guy like Pasternak is.

I don’t really mind Dunleavy. He does the bare minimum and is rather dull. He kind of blends into the background. I often find Ray annoying though.

Rob Ray was better when he was down at ice level and we only had to hear him once in a while.

Just watched. Karmanos seems fine personally. With regards to questions about why he would take this job, I’m thinking that he sees it as an opportunity to be at the very center of decision making and really put his mark on an organization. He is coming in as the most experienced guy in the room and will get a big say in who else joins the group. He is starting with a fairly blank slate and he should be able to do a lot of molding and important decision making himself. If he couldn’t get a GM job, this is probably the next best thing. Aww, didn’t mean anything. What’s blocking, in an improv sense?

Is that something like doing something unfunny that also eliminates possibilities for other people to do something funny? It’s posted up thread
