Really? Why? Do you have comparable? I would think a 2-3 year bridge would be in the 3.5-4.5 range, and a 6+ year deal would be in the 5.5-7 range. I’m going to have to go looking for comparable D contracts.
-
Why do you think that? Miller I get, he’s kind of similar to Risto, but not quite as good, and a little cheaper. But they may want a younger asset who they have control of for several years, as opposed to Risto for just one season.

7th full season, which is what I said.

This is a pointless type of fear. Don’t trust them to make a trade, or sign players, or make draft picks. Better to let him walk away in UFA? Management can’t mess that transaction up at least.

One player can not carry a team to success. It just doesn’t work like that in the NHL. Risto is not being paid or deployed as a 2/3 pair guy. He would do fine in that role most likely. One year from now is he going to take a pay cut to stay in Buffalo and play that role? If not then he is a one year rental asset. This must be kept at the forefront when considering what to do with him. Borgen meanwhile will be much cheaper and under team control for at least 3 more years. Not all of this is a direct response to your post, but I kind of used it as a jumping off point.

Kind of, but pretty different situations. Chara had just finished his age 23 season and 3rd full NHL season, while Risto this offseason will have just finished his age 26 season and 7th full NHL season. Chara was not really that late of a bloomer by age 25 he was finishing top-10 in Norris voting. Also, Chara was traded as part of a package for a star #1C, Yashin, along with a 1st and a 4th line F.

I don’t think it’s a magic number. It was probably determined that a 6 ft distance would provide some protection while also being practical to implement. If it was for maximum safety, the guideline would probably have been 50 ft or something, but that’s useless because no business could implement it.

Got my Pfizer vaccine 2nd dose this afternoon. I’ll let you know how I feel, and we’ll see if my new Gates microchip gets Bluetooth or starts downloading automatic Microsoft updates or anything. Also, vaccines are incredibly accessible around here (Albany area). Anyone 16+ who wants to get it, can get it basically at their convenience. I got mine at Walmart, and while I was there they announced over the PA that anyone who wants to get it should go to the pharmacy. I think they were going to do it on the spot for anyone. Maybe they had some extra from cancellations earlier in the day.

When you are breathing stuff into the air, the farther away from me you are, the less likely I am to breathe that stuff in. It’s really not much more complicated than that.

Just got my second Pfizer this afternoon. Good thing you didn’t get that Sputnik. The Bluetooth microchip works fine, but it translates everything into Russian. 🇷🇺 🤷🏻♂️

What do you call a man with no arms and no legs floating out in a lake? What do you call a cow with no legs?
-
It definitely is. Art/collectible stuff is all stupid though. It’s incredibly stupid that people pay thousands of dollars for a painting or baseball card. People do it though.

Whatever you say Boomer. It’s a digital thing. Im just kidding. I’m not really defending it as a good idea, cause I’ve no interest in that crap, but digital things can be things too. Is the digital file of a song a thing? Is a digital picture of your family a thing?

Weird to describe an item that is inherently useless and doesn’t profess to have any use as snake oil. It’s not much different than buying any other “useless” thing. Like a hockey card, baseball card, bobble head, beanie baby, piece of art, etc.
-
I highly doubt he will be there in round 2. Someone will take a chance on him in the back half of round 1. I don’t think I would be in favor of trading down, but maybe Buffalo snags a late 1st in a trade. I’d be all for taking him there.
-
Its like a digital piece of art or memorabilia item. In this case, think of it as a rare hockey card, except it’s only digital.

Not barefoot. They walked it on their skates.

Some of you guys really worried about this?

One more and Brady will tie Gordie himself. Should be named a Rick Tocchet hat trick I guess.

@PerreaultForever @LGR4GM You guys a kind of swinging at the wind. Does anyone think that you can build a contending team on analytics and offensive players while neglecting the ability to play/withstand the physical and mental parts of the game? Does anyone think that Wayne Simmonds, or another aged, physical vet with very little left in the tank, makes a huge difference for Toronto, or is a key piece of a Cup contender? You guys are fighting against the ideas of you most dislike, not discussing what each other are actually saying.

Just a note on this. Keep in mind that things like puck pursuit, compete, and positional awareness are skills too. Beniers has to be near elite in areas like that.

Reinhart bounces one in off his stick, classic Reinhart, smh.

Is pizza in Buffalo really that good? Why?
