  1. No one here knows enough to have any clue about whether Eichel should get surgery or not.
  2. Schiefele specifically? He has a 10 team NTC. Sabres are definitely one of those 10.
  3. This take is like the “this is what I would tell him!” fantasy. The problem is that it is completely unrealistic for so many reasons.
  4. I’m sure that most players are tired of the organization and of losing. However, it’s the specific contract situation that Sam is in which basically guarantees he will be moved.
  5. Agree, in a sense. The fans shouldn’t be expected to be patient. They have waited long enough. With that said, I think they probably are going to need to wait a couple more years, rightly or wrongly, patiently or impatiently.
  6. I can’t blame you for not having trust in the organization, but I think that is in effect regardless of what type of trade they pursue. I do see the appeal of acquire a high quality known quantity. How many of those are available though? I just don’t think a good team is going to trade their 1C for Eichel. So for me, you are looking at struggling teams. How many of them have #1 quality C’s? How many of those players have any youth or term? I’m not very interested in trading Eichel for a 30 year old with 2 years of term remaining. I think if we were to actually go through it, the pool of potential matches is extremely small. I suppose it’s not impossible but I doubt a match can be made.
  7. I think Sam is more likely to be traded than Jack. Sam is going walk for nothing in a year if no trade is made.
  8. I mean, maybe, but I don’t see why this is definitely true. There are also serious advantages to trading them both sooner rather than later.
  9. There are a lot more. Newhook, Krebs, Lafreniere, Drysdale, Askarov, Knight, Lundell, Jarvis, Holloway, maybe a couple other young D.
  10. Egg Zachary?
  11. Eh, not so sure. Could be 25th, 50th, and 75th picks in a weak, messed up draft.
  12. Why in the world would they? He is basically as good as Eichel and his neck isn’t all jacked up. I don’t think a 1 for 1 is a very viable route.
  13. Taylor Who?
  14. Thinking about this a little. I think Davidson would be a good guy to bring in as a Senior Advisor type position. Someone tell me I’m wrong.
  15. Ha, I’m in Albany but actually working in Ballston Spa now.
  16. I’m Albany area too!!! I literally don’t care what other people say, that’s kind of just me though. As long as Buffalo remains terrible, the Sabres will be an instrument of public shame, whether Eichel is a part of the taunt or not, that’s just how it goes.
  17. Seems about right.
  18. Wow, a lot in here. I’m just going to list them. - It’s $10M not 9 - one player can’t make a team a contender, NHL hockey doesn’t work like that. -Not being as good as McDavid and Draisitl is not an insult. -Jack has the leverage to force a trade in the form of the negative attention he can attract. -Jack was seriously injured this season, multiple injuries actually, so it’s no wonder he didn’t earn his money. -In your opinion, what is it that Jack and Sam have done that has held the team back? I would try to get at least another good pick or prospect out of it. I would probably take on a 1-2 year salary dump type of player to make it work.
  19. So, this is a super disreputable publication (can I even call it that?) but that sure would be fun to talk about. Torts as HC, Davidson as Assistant GM/Senior Advisor, Karmanos, and Adams trade Jack Eichel to Chris Drury and James Dolan. Wild.
  20. Drafts under late-Regier and Murray were pretty awful. Since Botterill they are looking much more promising.
  21. This is funny, but it’s basically true. If you build a quality organization, it can withstand quite a few bad moves and bounce back because the underlying principles guiding the ship are yielding positive results.
  22. You think Buffalo won’t even be able to get an elite/very high end prospect for Eichel. There would be more than one team trying to acquire him. They will actually be bidding against each other. Image Chris Drury trying to explain to James Dolan that they can’t acquire Eichel because they just can’t part with Kakko. I have a hard time picturing that, and picturing Drury also keeping his job.
  23. Sorry, too many posts, you think the others would be off the table? Personally, I think that an Eichel trade would still include another teams elite prospect, then maybe a stop gap roster player, and pick or two.
  24. So do you think all of Lafrenierre, Kakko, Chytil, Kratsov, Miller would be off the table?
