  1. Egg Zachary?
  2. Eh, not so sure. Could be 25th, 50th, and 75th picks in a weak, messed up draft.
  3. Why in the world would they? He is basically as good as Eichel and his neck isn’t all jacked up. I don’t think a 1 for 1 is a very viable route.
  4. Taylor Who?
  5. Thinking about this a little. I think Davidson would be a good guy to bring in as a Senior Advisor type position. Someone tell me I’m wrong.
  6. Ha, I’m in Albany but actually working in Ballston Spa now.
  7. I’m Albany area too!!! I literally don’t care what other people say, that’s kind of just me though. As long as Buffalo remains terrible, the Sabres will be an instrument of public shame, whether Eichel is a part of the taunt or not, that’s just how it goes.
  8. Seems about right.
  9. Wow, a lot in here. I’m just going to list them. - It’s $10M not 9 - one player can’t make a team a contender, NHL hockey doesn’t work like that. -Not being as good as McDavid and Draisitl is not an insult. -Jack has the leverage to force a trade in the form of the negative attention he can attract. -Jack was seriously injured this season, multiple injuries actually, so it’s no wonder he didn’t earn his money. -In your opinion, what is it that Jack and Sam have done that has held the team back? I would try to get at least another good pick or prospect out of it. I would probably take on a 1-2 year salary dump type of player to make it work.
  10. So, this is a super disreputable publication (can I even call it that?) but that sure would be fun to talk about. Torts as HC, Davidson as Assistant GM/Senior Advisor, Karmanos, and Adams trade Jack Eichel to Chris Drury and James Dolan. Wild.
  11. Drafts under late-Regier and Murray were pretty awful. Since Botterill they are looking much more promising.
  12. This is funny, but it’s basically true. If you build a quality organization, it can withstand quite a few bad moves and bounce back because the underlying principles guiding the ship are yielding positive results.
  13. You think Buffalo won’t even be able to get an elite/very high end prospect for Eichel. There would be more than one team trying to acquire him. They will actually be bidding against each other. Image Chris Drury trying to explain to James Dolan that they can’t acquire Eichel because they just can’t part with Kakko. I have a hard time picturing that, and picturing Drury also keeping his job.
  14. Sorry, too many posts, you think the others would be off the table? Personally, I think that an Eichel trade would still include another teams elite prospect, then maybe a stop gap roster player, and pick or two.
  15. So do you think all of Lafrenierre, Kakko, Chytil, Kratsov, Miller would be off the table?
  16. I mean, I understand reasons you might feel this way, though I personally do not care at all what Rangers fans say, but people are discussing potential trade returns from the Rangers. You countering their posts by saying “Nope, I’m not trading him to the Rangers!” doesn’t really add a lot to their conversation.
  17. What does this accomplish? You don’t actually get a vote. You think for sure? Why?
  18. I feel doubtful that an established 1C with any youth or term will be part of the return.
  19. No way, there was complete connection (synergy?) between those two abilities. Anyone think Houser is going to demand a trade?
  20. If Jack is traded, it’s not going to be because of a disagreement about his injury. It perhaps played a part in the story, but it is just one event in the overarching plot line. He has obviously been unhappy with the organization for quite some time, before KA even took over, and that is going to bleed into all other aspects of how they interact with each other. The relationship is fractured. He doesn’t trust the organization. That was probably the case before he was even injured.
  21. Eichel is not married and doesn’t have children. Of course he still has a family, but just wanted to clarify.
  22. So, it kind of looks like we have the answer to the question that I posed here. I’ve been mostly staying off the topic, partly because Jack has been injured, and partly because it rarely leads to productive conversations, but this seems like a good time to drag this back out. In my opinion, Jack may be pissed about whatever the disagreement was regarding his injury, but it’s not as if this all came out of nowhere. It maybe was just the straw that broke the camels back. Things have been trending in this direction for years and I don’t think it was too hard to see this coming. It seems pretty broken. Even with the injury, this offseason may be the best time to move Eichel. It avoids the drama of having an unhappy star/captain pissed off and just putting in his time until a trade. It would be significant distraction and would make the season all about Jack. The young guys on this team don’t need that. I think I lean in that direction, even if he comes back and plays well, maybe you get a little more of a return. Its not a good situation. I don’t have anything against Eichel, but I don’t have any sentimental attachment to him either. At this point it seems it may be in the best interest of both parties to go their separate ways.
  23. This thread is uncalled for. Lock it until after the 2021 draft at least. Please.
  24. Not a good idea. At the deadline no teams have cap space ($10M!) and good teams don’t want to trade away good pieces just before the playoffs.
  25. That makes one of us. Are you sure that you remember his name even? Hehe Yakupov?
