    I was no fan of Myers, even if his game was improving a lot towards the end...but I still hated the big deal with Winnipeg. I called it Murray's first big mistake at the time. I still don't like it, don't like Kane, don't like Bogo, and I'll be happy when Kane is moved. I just hope this current thing blows over quickly so there is no threat of him doing jail time or anything like that, and then he can hopefully be moved. Do you see Kane as an instrumental core piece in a perennial Cup contending lineup? I sure don't!

    Tune in to TSN 1260 from Edmonton! The rationalization going on among some Oiler fans is absolutely unreal. Then you have the smart fans calling in with outrage. Current caller: "I've been a fan since the 1970s; This is the second worst decision in franchise history. Chiarelli you're an idiot!" (Hangs up phone). :lol: :lol:

    I am of a similar mind. I flat out don't want the Sabres to acquire him. We have a good thing going and I see Stamkos and a huge K subtracting more than it adds. Also, for a mega priced superstar, he's a bit of a one trick pony with flaws in his game. I can think of many superstars I'd have before Stamkos, if they were equally available. Drew Doughty, Erik Karlsson, Toews and Patrick Kane are all way more valuable players in my opinion, to name a quick four off the top of my head.

    This is a great pick; he has good size, speed, hands... If he's still around when this kid is ready, RJ's favorite new call every time he scores is going to be: "He shoots, he scores! I smell Pu! Cilff Pu!"

    Too small and doesn't play the "heavy" game Murray loves. He has good talent with leadership intangibles and good speed, but still a couple of years away from the NHL. I see him being acquired as BPA to be used as a piece to be moved down the road for good value.

    Pysyk just never had the physicality the team wanted; Kulikov helps a lot in that area, while still being a good puck mover. Pysyk's offensive output was low too. Kulikov comes as a second pairing guy on a playoff team, shoots left. Decent enough deal.

    That Tampa draft sheet was apparently found on the floor at the Hyatt and appears to be the real deal. Everyone is tweeting about this, including Harrington from The Buffalo News and WGR 550.

    Right, but they aren't going to offer the full $2.85 million on the performance end. The Sabres can structure those so they are impossible not to attain.

Girgensons is currently a Restricted Free Agent. He told this same reporter earlier in the offseason that he was frustrated by the Sabres' lack of clarity on what type of role he would be playing next season. He struggled under Dan Bylsma at times after having a promising 2014-15 under Ted Nolan. The former first-round pick has been named in a number of trade rumors since the offseason began.

    When I said upthread that SJ will win in 5, possibly 6, what I really meant was Pittsburgh will dominate and take the first 2 at home. Then possibly threaten a sweep if SJ doesn't get their act together quickly for games 3 and 4. :w00t: It's really nice to see an under-achieving Pittsburgh team playing at the level their talent would suggest again, now that they are under new coaching. Oh wait. :o
