You can say that again. This isn't going to look a lot better for the first 20 games at a minimum. They are lost right now.

Very poor 5 on 5 performance in that period and Eichel's line played like hot garbage... Poor start for Risto as well, giving up 10 shots against while at even strength while on ice.

Bad decision from ROR there... But I'd like to reiterate my hatred for the Canadiens.

Just catching wind of all this now. The firing of GMTM strikes me as strange; Pegula has revealed himself, slowly, over time, to be kind of an idiot and not a good owner at all. He has lots of money and kept both teams in Buffalo. Once you get beyond that, his ownership of both franchises has been total crap.

For a while now, it's been obvious that Bylsma would survive the season after earlier thinking he would not. He isn't going to get canned in the offseason either. So now we almost need the Sabres to start next year in a funk and crap the bed for their first 10 games or something...that's when Bylsma will get the ax.

After tonight, there is no doubt Bylsma should be a strong candidate for the Jack Adams award this year. Suggested no one in the world...until just now!

I have faith Bylsma won't be HC at the start of next season. That should help.

Pegula got stiffed by Babcock and he didn't like it. He went with what he perceived to be the Clear #2 coaching stud on the market at the time--Bylsma--as a backup plan. Of course Bylsma is and always has been a mediocrity, but Pegula didn't know that. You have to remember Pegula is the lowest information sports fan you've ever known. Pegula went with the "We'll show the world that Pegula and Buffalo can get some respect" approach and told GMTM to hire Bylsma, with cost being immaterial. GMTM played ball, not wanting to rock the boat and being grateful to be a new GM in the NHL. That's my theory on events. Of course, how Bylsma came to be the HC is not important. He's horrible and will be gone, sooner or later.

No need to limit it to your 3 choices. It is entirely possible that the Bylsma hire was on Pegula, or at least heavily influenced by Pegula. GMTM may simply realize the team is not progressing in a manner he likes under Bylsma and realize it is time to move on. I can't imagine Bylsma being the coach of this team for Game 1 of next season. The only issue is when he goes. The exact timing of that is not important. This season is lost anyway, and has been lost for quite some time.
