That POS Malkin comes off of his feet and hits Wheeler in the head doesn't get a phoe call? I have watched the replay of the hit at 1/15 time and Wheeler's head is this first thing that Malkin makes contact with...he launches himself into the hit. Did he hit Wheeler's shoulder? Yes...was there head contact? Yes, lots. To make matters worse, that poor excuse for a poor excuse assists on Crosby's GWG. I'd like to see someone Bobbly Clarke him on the 8th when they are in town. I think two of their D were knocked out of the game and one for sure is out for 6 weeks but they were on legal hits. Too bad it wasn't Malkin.

One was an empty net goal. He played well tonight but hasn't been playing well lately at all. His D game really, really needs work. He was demoted to the 4th line a few games ago for 2 periods and I thought most fans were going to have a fit. This is the first game in the last 16 that we let in fewer than 3 goals.

Don't feel bad...we have won 3 games in a row once last year at the very end of the season when we were out of the playoffs for weeks and once this year.....think about that for a second....one 3 game winning "streak" last year and one this year. I didn't expect to make the post season this year but I expected a bit more consistency.....the only thing consistent about the Jets is their inconsistency. The easiest year to make the playoffs in this division since we got back in it and still can't make it. It sure would be nice to win the lottery again this year and get home boy Nolan Patrick!!! 12 games minimum if I had a say. Inch and a half higher and he takes the stick right in the eyeball. No room whatsoever for that in the game. 12 games and a good beating thenext time those two play. I think of Petry watching Price have to defend himself and thought, Petry needs to go. Good on Lehner and good on the guy that came flying in to stick up for his goalie.

Kaner is driving up his value.....trade him now while the price is high. Not as a rental but an honest hockey trade...I am sure the Ducks would give up a young expansion draft exempt LHD and maybe more for Kaner if they could find a way to afford him.

No way is Kaner worth close to 6m x5. Who would sign him to that? He's be lucky to get 4.5m x 5. He has scored over 50 points once in his career and that was 5 years ago on a team that didn't preach D. His highest total since is 41 points. JVR has 40 points already this season and makes 4.25m per year. Kreider makes 4.625m. No way Kaner gets anywhere near 6m x 5.

Hawerchuk is in the top 20 of scoring all time and only Lemieux played less games. Thornton should have been in there too. No Malkin? Really? Cup winner and Calder, Conn Smythe, Art Ross and Hart trophies... Even Lapointe should have been on there.

The Blues starting Copley in net this afternoon....he played 24 minutes in one game last season.....not sure how I feel about that.

On the bright side... it's not like you went in AZ and played a team 2nd last in the standings that hadn't played in 5 days that were 1-8-1 in their last 10 games and only scored 16 goals in their last 10 games and let them score 4 in the first period and go on to lose the game..........things could be worse.

Alzner is a D man I want the Jets to go after. I don't think the Caps will not be able to afford him and probably lose one or two others.

I hope I'm not out of line responding to this thread but this is what I would do if I were the GM. Keep Kaner this season unless someone comes a knockin' with a really good LHD in the deal. This off-season, probably the draft table, I would trade Kaner for a quality D prospect whether he is a LHD or RHD....someone like Sanheim or Skjei. Then, having cleared 5.25m of AAV, I go after Alzner and give him an offer he can't refuse. You get a 1LHD, at worse a very good 2LHD, and a blue chip prospect ready or VERY close to being ready for the NHL So, you trade a 3rd liner that is making big bucks that is only under contract for another year for a blue chip prospect and fill your need at D. Don't want to start any arguments so if this post shouldn't be allowed, will one of the mods please delete it.

I thought Ehlers or for sure Scheifele would make it........glad Laine did though...another 212.5k bonus for him.
