Shouldn't that be older? Anyway, if I were you, I would be glad to have Eichel over AM...something tells me that AM isn't a lifer in TO. Growing up watching hockey since the 60s I am really not a fan of OT and SO in the regular season but I see why they are in the game. I think they should change the shootout to 7 players and two have to be D men. If it is tied, it is tied. One point each. edit ... maybe they could keep stats and give out an award for the best scorer and goalie with a certain amount of attempts or a % of his team's attempts? I also think that every team should play the same amount of b2b games in a season or at least within one.

Thanks Doohickie. I haven't heard anything about Kaner since charges were dismissed and that is probably a good thing. He should get some points playing with Reinhart.... I know nothing about Bailey. Matthews has a look about him like he is entitled to something or something. I can't place it. I've stopped watching interviews with him and follow his points totals along with most top rookies. I don't follow the Leafs much at all which is hard to do in Canada because every second headline is a story about them. I don't dislike any Canadian team as much as I do TO. I don't like the Canucks much either though. Good luck with the Hawks tomorrow, the Jets play FL in less than an hour and I have Pacificos and Red Stripes in the fridge... First off, congrats on the win last night. Against a team that has had our number too...I see Kaner scored. Who are his linemates nowadays? Regarding cheering during the anthem at games...Times have changed then. A guy I used to go see a LOT of games with when Jets 1.0 were in town started cheering with 30 seconds left in the anthem. ALWAYS... By the time the anthem was finished, you could hardly hear the singer with everyone cheering. He'd start the whole arena going. I tell that to people now and they look at me like, "ya, okay." but it is true. When it is mentioned what Ben would do around one of the 6 or so of us that used to go to the games, we just shake our heads and smile. One of the quietest buddies I have but put a couple of lagers in him and take him to the Jets' games and he turned into an animal. I'd like to think it pumped the players up a bit. We used to b$^ch that beer was over $3.00 a beer back then. Laine with a 3 point night last night puts him in a logjam tied for 15th for points and tied for 3rd in goals. He missed one or two practices this week. I think AM is an awesome player but I am happy and glad we have Laine. A humble, confident kid that wants nothing but Ws. I don't know why I dislike Matthews because there is no reason but he reminds me of Brendan Lemieux and I really don't care for him either. Armia should have had 4 goals last night and a penalty shot too. Both his linemates had 2 grade A scoring chances too. I am not sure about Roslovic but I think Armia turns into the best player we got in that trade. I sure hope we don't lose him to Vegas.

How much are tickets to see a game there if you don't mind me asking? I went to the Avs game in Winnipeg. The gf won the tickets. 182.00 each and they were 13 rows up from the ice at the home end for 1st and 3rd periods pretty much at the faceoff dot. She gets so into a game on the tv that I am going to hate to see her when the inevitable happens and we eventually see a game where they lose...it ain't gonna be pretty. Another question...I started hooting and hollering a good 10 seconds before the anthem was finished and got some dirty looks....you guys think that it is wrong to start cheering before the anthem is finished?

Myers on the road trip and we are in Buffalo next Saturday...lotsa fans speculating that Burmi was moved to make room on the roster for Myers and that he should be ready to play next Saturday.

We have only been close to healthy for 5 or 6 games so I am willing to give Maurice the season at a minimum....no interest in Bylsma at all. Just lost Dano for 8 weeks and Myers is STILL out.....our 3rd pairing D is horrendous.

I like the way you think... You guys might find this really, really hard to believe but I bet I hate the Bruins more than any one of you.......I liked Orr back in the day but utterly despised the rest of them growing up and still do. Not all teams are getting their wins, just ask me. How do the Isles convince Tavares to re-sign? We play the Isles tonight and I think one of the worst moves in the off-season was letting Okposo go and signing Ladd. Ladd was trending downhill last season after his hernia surgery. Ladd saves them a half a million a year...his salary is 1m per and the rest in signing bonuses...terrible move...how long is that contract going to haunt them??? Having said that, it wouldn't surprise me if they took the W from the Jets tonight. If the draft were today, we would be drafting 10th....we need to lose more games. LOTS of Jets fans wanting to pick up Halak.....no clue...

If asked before the season if Torts would still be coaching at Christmas I would have given it a 50/50 chance and look at him... To be fair to Matthews, the Jets have played 4 more games than the Leafs. I compare the Jets to the Leafs and Sabres and the Coyotes with the Coyotes and Leafs maybe being a bit behind in their rebuild by a year or two. Really good prospects, inconsistent play, one or two bad contracts and impatient fans. Calgary is a bit ahead in their rebuild as is Deadmonton but don't start me on that team. I think in 3 or so years the 4 teams I named will all be in the top teams of the league. Look at ow fast things change, of the top 10 teams right now the only Western teams are Chicago and Minnesota. The game is getting faster every year.

Matthews scored tonight to go 16-9-25. Laine scored tonight to go 19-11-30. The Jets have 3 players with 30 or more points and still won't make the playoffs.

Nope, Enstrom isn't as soft as Myers is. I would be willing to guess Bogo would clock someone that did what Palmieri did.

Take a closer look at the replay and see how soft the D man's hands are on Palmieri. Palmieri doesn't even have to dig in his skates to resist any force from Petry. The problem I have with this play is that it should have been 5 skaters giving him punches to the head not the goalie. You simply do not let the other team run your goalie and it is sad that Price had to take matters into his own hands. Petry should have been decking that guy before Price got up if you ask me. That happens around Buff, Trouba, Chiarot, or Morrissey, he is going to know it is a mistake.

LOTS of hate from Jets' fans towards Staf this morning...he took a penalty at the end of the 3rd period last night and the Rags scored with just over a minute left to win 2-1. Kyle Connor goes to the farm also.
