  1. It is hard to compare this deal with Rhino's because his was a 1 year deal. Dahlin's contract allows you a year to come to an agreement. Having said that, I would have given him a 2 year deal. He had little leverage coming off of his ELC and will have all of it coming off of his bridge.
  2. I'm much older...........first I was Jacques Laperriere and then Guy Lafleur. Great player on and off the ice. He made himself a lot of cash and deserves his retirement. Can't say enough good things about this guy.
  3. Teppo was rarely out of position and saw the game in slow motion. One of my very favorite Jets' D from Jets 1.0.
  4. I see him as a good 2nd pairing D man. Does he play 2nd pairing this year or 1st?
  5. McD has to be more than frustrated. The best player on the planet and they can't get past the first round? Bad contracts and drafting have really hurt this team but they don't learn. I'm not sold on their coach either. I see them finishing 3rd in their division.
  6. Player needs 40 games to count as a season...Mitts has 2 seasons with 40 or more. A goalie needs 30 games.
  7. https://puckpedia.com/player/casey-mittelstadt Looks like he has 2 years of RFA after this deal. Great signing.
  8. You really don't see the difference?
  9. If he has 2 years of RFA after this deal, this is an excellent deal. If he has 1 year of RFA after this deal, this is a stupid, horrible move that proves the organization learned nothing from the Rhino signing.
  10. A picture of my retriever with some of the birds we shot on Wednesday. We shot two Wood Ducks, a bluebill, and rounded out our limit with blue wing teal and green wing teal. It was nice to get out, I didn't hunt at all last year and that is the first time that has happened since 1972.
  11. I can't see that aging well.
  12. What about giving three guys an "A" for a season or two and seeing what shakes out?
  13. The polio vaccine was tested for about 12 months.
  14. Yes, the whole province. There were 33 cases yesterday. 1,187 people have died from Covid since the pandemic started. Winnipeg (over 750k people) usually gets just over half of the new cases. Manitoba is almost the size of TX.
  15. That takes a lot of patience from the fans ... and management too.
  16. Yes, we are but not as much as other provinces are. Manitoba has been one of the strictest when it comes to restrictions and rightly so. We were doing the shits awhile back with LOTS of positive cases. We are getting 25-35 a day in the province right now. The place I work has kept the mask rule for now.
  17. On the whole, I think it is harder to get points in the playoffs than the regular season. I think he will do just fine in the playoffs but so much depends on linemates.
  18. In Manitoba 80.7% of people over 12 have the first shot and 73.8% of people over 12 have both shots. We are averaging about 34 cases a day with a population of about 1.37 million. We no longer need to wear masks in most places and most restrictions have been removed; however, I find that over 90% of the people are still wearing masks in public places. Bomber football games can only be attended by fully vaccinated people and the Jets are saying masks will be worn by fans at games.
  19. Pionk just re-signed for 4 x 5.875m. What's with the short contracts? Both players born in '95.
  20. Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings are supposed to be playing at the ballpark here in Winnipeg on August 28th....Tom Cochrane also supposed to be there...only double vaxed people can attend.
  21. I didn't mention the best in Canada? They aren't in the Canadian division next year, they will be in the Central and I can only see the Avs finishing with more points.
  22. They replaced Tucker Poolman (got a ridiculous contract from Dim Jim) with Nate Schmidt. They replaced Forbort (got an even more ridiculous deal from the Bruins) with Dillon. Their metrics will be much better next year. If Chevy manages to keep Copper, I think we finish 2nd in the Central next year.
  23. Chevy shoring up the back end with Dillon and Schmidt. Looks like he is going for it this year. He has traded the 2022 2nd and 3rd and the 2023 2nd. We won't have one of the worst D corps this season.
  24. If Stastny is re-signing, I hope it is for one year at less than half of last year's salary.
  25. This trade depends on whether the goalie turns out or not. The 1st will probably be a 15th-20th or so. The excellent return on Risto buffers the return on Rhino quite a bit. You can't judge a GM by one move. Any word on McCabe?
