  1. I agree with this post 100%. Monahan, Kachook, Anderson and a 1st would be enough for Eichel but you are getting taken to the cleaners if you include Rhino. Monahan is an ok 2C that has scored 76 points in the last 120 games over the last two seasons and almost ALWAYS plays with Johnny regular season Hockey. I wouldn't trade him straight up for Rhino. If the flames are getting Rhino and Eichel the deal would have to be centered around Lindell and Zary with a ton of adds. Add 2 first round picks, Anderson or Hanifin and a few other adds. I know people like Kachook but I wouldn't want him on my team...or his brother for that matter.
  2. That's a normal and fair bridge isn't it? He averaged 47 points a season on his ELC. The problem was not locking him up last year, not his bridge. I said so when he signed it and I stand by it.
  3. If Rhino goes to arbitration, there is no way he stays. As far as publicly complaining about not making the playoffs, that should never be mentioned in public. That is for behind closed doors with your agent and GM. Little played 7 years without one playoff game and didn't utter a peep but he is a consumate pro.
  4. I believe that the Sabres don't make the playoffs next season even if Jack stays. Too hard of a decision and not enough talented players on the team not to mention you don't have a starting goalie signed.
  5. You think the playoffs are on the horizon by trading Jack for Scheif?
  6. I thought he was bridged and Adams signed him to the one year deal (giving Rhino ALL the leverage)?
  7. Fans need to realize the Sabres will not be a contender for a minimum of at LEAST 3 years and maybe more. You need a bona fide goalie, but most of all you need a competent GM. I would have fired him as soon as he signed Rhino to that one year deal.
  8. I was asked if I would make the trade and I answered yes I would. I am not saying it would happen. Scheif is not going to turn this team into a contender. Do you think he is a point-a-game player on the Sabres?
  9. You'd trade them straight up? Scheif has the better contract but JE is younger and better. I'd make the trade in a heartbeat. Play him with KC and Ehlers with no A or C on his sweater and he probably scores close to 100 points...as long as we upgrade our D and coach. Scheif and Maurice for Eichel!
  10. Anybody would straight up but that isn't happening.
  11. Just watched the interview. Sadly, I think Eichel is gone. He's a better center than Scheif and I'd hate it if he wanted out. I'd love him on the Jets but it will never happen. This is definitely Pegula's fault and nobody else's. Hiring an inexperienced GM was/is a grave mistake and it shows. Eichel should have been given an A, if anything, not the C (I know Adams didn't do this). I really couldn't believe when Rhino was signed to a one year deal. He's a consistent 60-65 point man, why not lock him up??? I'd fire Adams as soon as the regular season ended. Get a veteran GM and let him build the team and don't meddle. I honestly don't think his interview hurt his value because he is a legitimate top 5 center. You guys will get a ton back for him and there will be multiple offers for him. I can guarantee you that 31 teams will be phoning to see what it would cost to pry him out of Buffalo. In my opinion, a futures laced deal along with a half decent center is the way to go. Cozens has 1C written all over him but it won't be next season. This team will not be a contender for 4 or so years so I wouldn't waste the return on older players. You should be able to pick up a decent center along with one or two 1st round picks and one or two blue chip prospects. Build around Dahlin and Cozens. Draft well without trading top picks away. The fans need to be patient and trading Eichel will more or less force this.
  12. my opinion still stands and the rest of that group are not good defensively
  13. Read the rest of the sentence you quoted...
  14. Maybe I am wrong and my bias is showing there but my opinion still stands and the rest of that group are not good defensively but ***** on him all you want, it is evident you don't like Scheif. Not sure why, envious maybe. Like I said, at 6.125m x 8 years, I don't have too many complaints. Better than a ppg player for the last 4 or 5 years.
  15. Crosby, McJ and Drai being bad defensively is a fact and you can add P. Kane to that list as well.
  16. Seeing as you haven't answered my question, I guess you didn't use Cozens' stats from this year because they make him look worse. Scheif is bad defensively, no question. Look at some of the other players in that group like Cindy, Drai, MdJesus. At 6.125m x 8 years, I don't have too many complaints. You want these players to play better D, it will come at a cost of their O. Also, Scheif's wingers (Wheeler and KC) are horribly defensively as well and nobody knows why Maurice plays them all on the same line and matches them against players like McJesus when we have PLD and Lowry on the team...baffling to most. Mitts will be a good center in this league even though most Sabres' fans were willing to give up on him. The biggest problem I see with this franchise/fans is their lack of patience and putting young players into roles they aren't yet ready for...Mitts in the NHL too early and Eichel as captain come to mind off of the top of my head.
  17. In no order and not taking contracts into consideration whatsoever.... Connor McDavid Leon Draisaitl Auston Matthews Nathan MacKinnon Aleksaner Barkov Nikita Kucherov Patrick Kane Mark Stone Cindy Crosby Victor Hedman
  18. and Mitts shouldn't have been...evidenced by his demotion the following year.
  19. That doesn't mean shat to me....especially when Mitts was in the NHL when he shouldn't have been. Tell me the NHL numbers.
  20. I was wondering who you were comparing him to...if Cozens turns out as good as Scheif, consider yourself very lucky. What you bolded is Cozens' points from the last 3 season including this one. 13 points is not all that impressive and I would bet Mitts did better. Just looked it up...he was better than Cozens but just barely.
  21. I think Cozens turns into a bona fide 1C but why aren't you using this year's stats for Cozens? 13 points in 40 games played...209 gp with 132 points.
  22. Up 2-0 and 3-1 and lose 5-3 to the Habs tonight...If you guys are looking for a coach, Maurice should be available after this year. The Jets have about 10 games left in this season.
