  1. I'd do it if Couts extended for 4 years. A 1LHD and 1C don't come cheap.
  2. The upcoming unrestricted free agents that management wants to stay should already have been talked to and there should be ongoing negotiations. If they won't re-sign, you trade them. All upcoming free agents that the team doesn't want for next season should be traded. The younger players should be looked at hard for the rest of the season and let them make their mistakes and learn from them starting now. Better decisions can then be made about moving forward.
  3. Hall with 50% retained to the Isles for 3rd in 2021 and a 1st in 2022.
  4. Wheeler out with concussion protocol after b kachook's reverse elbow Tuesday night. POS got a minor. Next game will be interesting.
  5. The Leafs (Shanahan) got rid of some contracts and paid the price and in the meantime drafted some key players. Patience by management led them to a very decent team in time. Pay the price and get rid of him....Skinner too. That Skinner contract is ridiculous. Retain 1.5m and deal him. The thing is, the mind set can't be to win the cup in the next two or so years. I know the fan base is tired of waiting but the team isn't close to being a contender and patience is required. Get rid of the bad contracts, draft and develop with patience, treat the players properly and while it might be hard to attract free agents, once players play there, it will make them easier to keep (re-sign). I know some fans won't like this but the truth of the matter is, patience is required right now.
  6. That's 6m for 2 more seasons. I'd get his ass out of town as soon as I could.
  7. I'm not sure if the NHL can buy vaccines or not but considering their ages, the players are not eligible for the vaccine yet.
  8. I thought the Jets would have a 6 game layoff because of the Canucks games not being played but the NHL has scheduled a game with the Sens tomorrow that was scheduled for the 7th of May. It was part of a b2b so I guess the Jets benefit?
  9. The 4th highest paid player on the team on an anchor of a contract and you want to keep him?
  10. 16 players and 3 coaches on Covid protocol in Vancouver. The NHL expects it to run through the team. They won't be playing for awhile.
  11. Cozens is playing for the team he should be playing for and I would give Quinn the most amount of games without burning a year. I'm not saying play him every game until he hits the max - 1 game but play him against teams you think he would do better against and pick and choose your games. Let him make a bigger check while seeing how the pros get ready for the game at the rink and away. It'll make him even hungrier to make the team next year and push him to train his azz off during the off season. Once he has the games required minus one, send him back down or put him on the taxi squad. This is a player you are patient with though. If he is not ready for the bigs next season, back to junior (assuming he can't play in AHL) with him. Take a look at the youngsters and the players you are unsure of that you want to go forward with them. Points mean nothing. The rest of the season should be used to evaluate all positions of the organization, including the team, and make a plan on how to go forward starting this off season. It is time to bite the bulllet and buy out or trade KO to someone and pay the price. Skinner I honestly don't know what I'd do with but he would play in the top 6 the rest of the season.
  12. Laf is a LW behind Krieder and Panarin and isn't seeing that much ice time. He'll improve. Too bad he's a Ranger though.
  13. Julien is a better idea than Torts. I don't think the Sabres should sign a coach until the dust settles after the cup has been won and they know which coaches are available.
  14. He had a bad game but still a great backup. That poor showing knocked him down to .914 sv%...the team in front of him didn't give him much help last night. I think he gets a starting position next season.
  15. Trading Staal was a very good move. If you ask me. the Habs over paid. Those draft picks can also be added in a trade to acquire much needed players/picks/prospects. Hall, KO, Skinner, Eakin and possibly Miller should be the next ones up.
  16. They need to move out some pieces (Gioardano, Monaghan, Johnny (regular season) Hockey for starters. There are only a handful of starters I wouldn't trade if I am the Flames' GM and speaking of him.....how does he still have a job?
  17. 1-5 now. Hopefully 1-6 after tomorrow night. Lucic is a goon and should get suspended for a hit on Appleton tonight.
  18. He's done. I'd be totally shocked if he played next year.
  19. I was sick in bed with the chills and a headache for two days...third day (Friday) was better. I still have a bit of a headache. Small price to pay. Stay safe everyone!!!!!
  20. PLD and Laine had no trade protection either. Eichel can force a trade, no two ways about it.
  21. Brossoit is going to get a starter's job after this season. A really good goalie playing lights out this year. I'll hate to lose him but LB is too good to be a backup.
  22. Tell whichever GM that wants Hall that you will retain 50% for a 4th rounder but they take KO at full value.
  23. I am not sure but I think I will be getting the Astra Zeneca if I had to guess. Dr. Anna Banerji, an infectious disease specialist at the University of Toronto, told CTV News Channel on Tuesday that other provinces should follow British Columbia's move to extend the interval of vaccine doses up to 16 weeks given Canada's limited vaccine supply. "I think it makes sense," Banerji said. "The ultimate goal is to maximize life and reduce suffering and the way we do that is by getting as much vaccine out to as many people as possible." Banerji explained that the first dose of a vaccine gives a person immunity, while the second dose is for longevity. "So if you give [the second dose] in one month, two months, it really doesn't make a difference as long as as many people as possible get the vaccine," she said."
