  1. It's the *when healthy* part that gets me. He gets a healthy scratch, and not that he didn't deserve it, and his ego shatters like one of his hips.
  2. He sits at home for two years and after he comes back he is having a hard time cracking the line up, now he is requesting a trade? Well aint that special.
  3. So McCabe, Scandella and Bogo are now siting? Interesting.
  4. A die by the Blade article regarding Casey. https://www.diebytheblade.com/2019/12/11/21011582/the-buffalo-sabres-should-send-casey-mittelstadt-to-ahl-rochester-americans Are there any pitfalls to assigning Mittelstadt to Rochester? Not particularly, at least not as far as this writer is concerned. If the Sabres are going to continue to handle him as they have - scratching him, playing limited minutes and sometimes sitting him on the bench for nearly an entire period - he’d be much better off spending some time in the AHL. Send him down, see what he can do there for a few weeks, and then, if/when an NHL roster spot opens back up, bring him back up - when he’s earned the opportunity. I agree with Mellissa's assessment here. Give him at least a couple weeks in Rochester and let the coaches spend a lot of time with him. Take it from there.
  5. My perception is, with the number of games and travel time it's very difficult to stay healthy let alone add strength. You have much more time in the AHL because of the schedule to not only practice more often and for longer , but to also add a strength training regiment with it. I will give him the biggest benefit of the doubt that he just has no clue how to *bulk up* because no one has every helped him. That would all change if someone comes out and reports anything different, but all I hear is he's a good kid trying to do what the coach asks of him.
  6. Rather shocked by the offensive zone start % and that they are being *sheltered*. Montour playing on his off wing for the first time in his pro career has much to do about how Kruger is deploying them, I'm sure. Kudos to Kruger and both of them for working on this and making it work well.
  7. I don't think he's a dud. I think he needs some serious 1 on 1 coaching and strength training he can only get in Rochester. He's a mess. Let them slow the game down for him and get his mojo back. Then ship him up here all full of confidence.
  8. That Asplund-Jo-Vesey line has quietly become a nice 2/3 line. If we dump Mitts in Rochester and put Lazar in his spot that could also be a nice 2/3 line. As it is here coaches are trying to sneak playing time in for Skinner while Mitts sits.
  9. It was a fun game against a team in our minds, but not by the standings, sucks. Vancouver is a playoff team at home and we *had compete*. Good point on the road.
  10. Hard to argue Lance's points. The world knows we need a top 6 forward, but it's not going to happen until it's the right player at the right price.
  11. A second and Kyle.
  12. On paper they are water and oil, but on ice they mix very nicely. A pleasant shock.
  13. I'm sorry I have to. You've tee'd up low hanging fruit, so low that Ink wouldn't bend down for it..... Jack is off ?
  14. I also don't think it hurts if a 19 year old that was struggling watches from the press box for a few weeks.
  15. They went south fast and haven't come back at all. A 15% PP rate in November and we get a few more wins.
  16. He did. And I do believe that MoJO is a great pickup, a much better deal and a great teammate. I can't argue that and won't. I will argue that Berglund is purely a victim and I need to feel sorry for him and show sympathy. I'm really happy that he found his safe space and he is happy again. It cost him 12 million to do it and he doesn't care, fine. I just don't like him trying to tell me he had absolutely no responsibility in making sure his contract was fulfilled.
  17. How can you not find fault with a guy that takes absolutely no responsibility for his NHL career? It's everyone else's fault that he got traded and not at all his, not at least 50%? It's his contract, HIS! The Blue's GM fleeced the Sabres and Berglund. Then they won the Stanley Cup. Not the way I want the Sabres to ever handle any player and I hope that's not the mentality it takes to win it all. But that said, no party is not at fault here. One just took the low road, all be it contractually correct.
  18. If Toronto fans expect to win a playoff series anytime soon then Anderson is their only hope.
  19. Beyond Blue and Gold; Ray vs Domi. Left me wanting to see and hear more. Two great guys and great teammates. While Sobotka and Dahlin watch from home can't say the game is *safer* for skilled player since they retired.
  20. The whole point is Buffalo didn't screw him over. Then he screwed Buffalo over, in the same fashion as he got screwed over. Sabres and their fans are allowed to be just as upset. Two wrongs never make a right has to be one of your classic Dad-isms you've even used before.
  21. Well, they are giving away oven mitts.... ?
  22. May it be the most uplifting part of the game for the followers of the Great Satan. They are also 2 gentlemen that I would love to sit and have multiple beers with and just listen.
  23. Please, let us not forget our favorite whipping boy (or, one of many) Vessey. Steadily improving is one way of putting it, but I don't think he's done anything to radically different than earlier this season, he just seems to be finding his niche with his new team and mates.
  24. Maturity? The addition of a hand full of players? A new coach? The ebb and flow of a season? These are a couple of thoughts that popped into my mind after reading this.
