  1. But, Ink has a valid point also. He needs to get much better to be generational. McDavid progressed each year and Dahlin needs to progress this year for there to still remain a valid comparison of the two.
  2. E-rod was benched in place of Kyle for the third. I have no film of him. The coached benched him. Olofsson is a essentially a rookie here to score and doing a great job. Your point of sitting an offensive forward with limited defensive skills and a rookie is a comparison? Apples and oranges. Dahlin deserved to be benched, he was our worst defensive minded defensemen when that happened. So yes, the other 5 where better choices. E-rod deserved to be benched because he is our worst forward right now. Which is telling considering our middle six.
  3. I would agree he is the best offensive teenage D-man of the last 30 years. I also agree he will grow to be more defensively responsible. We have to also put into perspective that not long ago (10 years ?) no GM, no matter how high they were drafted, would ever play a teenage defensemen.
  4. 6:57 TOI and 10 shifts. 1(?) shift in the third. The coach thinks he is the worst player on the team by ice time.
  5. Canada ends at Toronto. Nothing else exists to the east and to the west till you get to BC. Just ask any Torontonian. ?
  6. E-Rod is in only because of injury and hasn't played better than Sobotka or Vessey. Being the worst player doesn't bode well for future ice time.
  7. Rob Ray pointed out last night that Kyle had taken his spot on more than 1 shift. I'm hoping Lazar is in for him.
  8. Didn't see E-Rod for the last half of the third and Rob made a quick comment on how KO was on the third line for another shift. E-Rod injured or do we have a chance to see Lazaar? E-Rod has made Vessey look serviceable so I'm hoping for some new blood.
  9. I enjoy a sprinkling of it. Broken Ankle's line up chart with a sprinkle of stats is just a nice way to see how we stack up line vs. line when you don't know 90% of the other teams players because we just never see them.
  10. Nah, just another Talking Head.
  11. They kinda did. From what I could see they went into a 1-1-3 forecheck mode. Only one forward was deep and pressuring the D-man with the puck. Another forward was just above the face off circles in the o-zone and the other three where around the center line. They did attack the puck quick and take away passing lanes. They did learn from their last few games when they had the same opportunity. Most importantly all 4 lines had good long puck control shifts in the o-zone. Which I believe is what you wanted to see happen most of all.
  12. Entering the third with a 2 goal lead. Kruger gets to coach them on how to protect a lead again. That are not very good at it yet, but it soon should be one of their strengths..
  13. I think miles is going the extra mile on this.
  14. He's a one size fits all player. Perfect for a West Coast trip.
  15. 10 games left in October. If they go 5-5 for the next 10 and wind up 9-5-1 for the month who would have thought that was a bad start to the season?
  16. Or hand grenades! But what ever, close enough....
  17. It's sad that Sabotka is on our second line and it's still better than our third. There are no neophytes on that line, they need to step it up.
  18. Satan of prizes is awaiting you. Just not sure who sent it or where it is from. ?
  19. He's getting the minutes because no other D-man is stepping up to take them away. Dahlin's play hasn't been good, if it where him and Miller would be eating up more minutes.
  20. To me, that's all stats are, a descriptive value of what my eyes and brain just witnessed and processed. A numerical form of communication that requires less space on paper than in word format to describe a game. It's also just as opinionated as any author of the printed form of communication.
  21. If E-rod lights a fire under Vesey's game and that line starts getting sustained pressure in the O-zone that would be awesome. Difficult decisions for a coach when a player comes back from injury are a really good thing.
  22. I wouldn't be surprised if Vesey is bumped before Sobotka. I bet E-rod clicks with Mittelstadt and leaves slow skating Vesey looking out of it.
  23. Just saw that happen and wondered the same thing.
  24. Satan is short and fat and can't play. Fire JBott!
