It is a good approach to have more options than TNT or VO one timers. Mixing it up keeps other teams off balance. Ovie has scored hundreds of PP goals from his spot but I like variety. I would even like to see how TNT does as a net front presence once in a while. Huge human for screening, great hands and reach. Put Quinn (upon his return) on the left wall when Tage goes net front to have a shooting, passing or dangling option.

I think Stillman will be OK as a 7D this season. He has warts but I would rather keep his grit than having Bryson as a 7. RJ will be ready for later in the season, which may push these guys further down the depth chart. I believe Clague would get claimed before Bryson due to salary.

Krebs struggled at wing 2 years ago but he is a different player now, it may be worth a try. This setup gives DG faceoff options too.

I think 3 goalies is rare. If Anderson could have played more than once a week they may have gone with 2 last year. UPL is young to give up on but he needs AHL time imo. Whether he clears waivers or gets traded is a mystery. Rochester would have three good candidates if UPL, Tokarski and Cooley were there.

Prospects trying to impress are going to go harder in the preseason than veterans. If they have some talent that can make them shine. Once the vets ramp up their games the prospects may not have that other gear. Remember the discussion last year of the NHL being an 80% league? That being said, I think Benson has done very well and should get a look in the regular season. The team can see how he adapts and he can see what he needs to work on if sent back to the Dub.

KA may be trying to time the waiver wire. Wait until a day where there are tons of guys on waivers so that his guys have a better chance of sliding through.

Good for Biro if he would be picked up, probably a better opportunity to make the NHL. The Sabres prospects would push him down the depth chart in another year anyway. The difference between Biro, Rousek and Jost is probably small. In their roles 15-25 points is achievable by all of them.

Teams are tight to the cap for the most part so guys making more than minimum like Bryson and Comrie get through for sure imo. Low talent teams like Arizona and Chicago could have a look at Biro.

Shoresy season 2 dropped two episodes today on Crave in Canada. I think Hulu will carry it in the USA but with a later release date.

This is how I see the competition at forward. Biro, Jost and Rousek are battling for the 13th forward spot. They are giving Benson a long hard look at a spot, which he deserves while Kulich/Rosen wait in the wings. Savoie is the wild card in this picture while Murray is filler.

I remember someone yelling out The Yurinator as he stepped onto the ice at the Aud. It was one of those spit your beer out moments.

That could work, letting Joki be more of a puck mover while Mule holds down the fort. The flip side is can EJ handle the workload of 2nd pairing?

He is playing well enough to have a regular season look and to decide from there.

Boxscore shows Stillman, Johnson and Novikov had more minutes than Bryson.

Cooley may pass Toker on the depth chart once the AHL season is underway.

Isn’t their backup Johansson? Maybe they will look at snagging UPL or Comrie on waivers.

No rush for sure. There is more pressure from him wanting to get back than the team needing to have him. When he is ready he will hopefully stick around for a look. If he can’t get preseason games he may qualify for a conditioning stint in Rochester.
