I think he and Rosen get a call up as an attaboy later on. Biro, Rousek are short term fill ins who don’t require more development. Kulich and Rosen will get a taste but are future NHLers. Benson forced his way in and is now being slow cooked, Savoie will get a look too. These two are in a different scenario than Kulich/Rosen due to the CHL.

It’s hard to come up with a positive vibe after last night’s sh*t show. All I’ve got is that the Leafs D is fragile as well and they will probably trade chances so it will boil down to who gets better goaltending and how well the scorers are creating. I’m looking for Cozens to get out his funk and just go north south in a foul mood. Like the players, we need to put last night behind us. That is tough to do when you leave a stinky mess on your own bed. Let’s go Buffalo!

Girgs has the speed to be effective on the rush and gets in quickly for the forecheck too. KO gets caught from behind and pinned in the neutral zone, he’s not even getting zone entries. He can play dump and chase but he struggles to pressure the D. If they gain the zone, he can still help the cycle game due to his strength and experience. Everyone raves about the PK and it’s probably not a coincidence that KO and Girgs are no longer key components of that unit.

I got a similar reaction, probably anti Mitts. I agree that you probably can’t get him under $6.5M if he keeps this up. He will be an example of staying hungry and working hard to play to your potential before being rewarded. KA has gone the other way with the core, except for Dahlin.

Yes, third party team would get VO or Lebanc for 1/4 of their $, which brings way more teams into play. Cap hit would be just over $1M instead of $4M, which only a couple of teams can take. Retaining on two guys is similar to a buy out but you get an asset back. The league would probably close this loophole after this deal.

I want to see consistency at this level in order to start believing in him. I think Levi is the man going forward but if UPL continues getting better and these two battle hard for the net that will be a good thing. 1A and 1B scenario would keep the wear and tear factor lower and you go with the hot hand in the playoffs.
