Sens lose again, to the Isles in regulation. Both teams can be passed with a Sabres win.
-
Yeah, a lot can happen in that ELC window. Like you and others have said, if he helps the team win games, keep him. I think KA is stalling as long as possible on this decision in order to make an informed one. Benson will be scratched a few times to get him rested and get maximum practice time with the Sabres. If he sits out too many games he could be eligible for a conditioning stint in Rochester, like Shane Wright did last season. Savoie’s performance in Rochester could allow him to get some Sabres games if Benson gets sent to the AHL or WHL. If they aren’t quite ready they could go to the WHL together. I think it would be difficult to drag this out until the Team Canada World Junior camp unless there are injuries or a goalie is traded. I’m still hoping that KA is pushing hard to get a similar deal to the Shane Wright ruling for Savoie, making him AHL eligible for the rest of this season.

Anaheim ties the Bruins with :15 left and then wins it in OT. Avalanche win streak comes to an end in Pittsburgh.

Is the Sabres PP too predictable?
French Collection replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
If TNT, Tuch and Cozens crash the net that is some serious beef for teams to deal with. Skinner can sift in and get loose pucks. I’m not saying they use a net front guy all of the time but once in a while to change it up. They could inject this system every once in a while to screw with other teams’ PK. If it becomes successful then use it more. Mitts might be a guy to do this on PP2. Benson has some clips from the WHL where he operates well from behind the net. Gretzky probably got a few hundred points from that location. If you install a player with the threat of a Michigan goal that adds another layer. -
NHL Teams Vote to decentralize the Draft
French Collection replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Sportsnet wrote that it was a cost saving idea along with the issue of privacy in having your own war room. Some teams were complaining about being overheard about picks and trades due to the proximity. Another mention was the free agency date being too close to the draft. They could simply use this device for every table. -
Crazy finish but it’s a W! Tuch is back, keep it up. UPL was solid, until he wasn’t. The boys find a way to give him tons of goal support. He is still my #3. Greenway keeps chugging along, good role player who does a lot of things well. Dogged effort on the ENG. Clifton and EJ have helped, and keep Bryson in the press box. Dahlin quietly at a point per game pace. It seems like he can get more.

I attended both games in Ottawa last year and they let me down. I’m watching from home this time. I know it is a back to back and UPL is starting so my expectations are low, maybe they pull it off. Ottawa will probably be a great rivalry for the next decade, the boys need to man up. Let’s go Buffalo!

I’ll add that in the Bruins 5 games this season, only one opponent was a playoff team last year.
-
It’s still early, they will start to lose a few and put a dent in their confidence. They probably use those pre season predictions as bulletin board material as opposed to the Sabres feeling the pressure for a change.

Savoie to Amerks on Conditioning Assignment
French Collection replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Keep us posted. He’s got the speed, needs to adjust to the size and strength of men. -
Definitely a different crowd. I talked to a guy at the forum years ago and he knew everything about every Habs player but the rest of the league was a mystery except for Gretzky and Lemieux. When I said I was from Ontario he asked me who was playing for the Leafs that year. I imagine the internet has helped inform some of them there are 31 other teams with decent players spread out amongst them.
-
The Habs should not be a playoff contender but this is no reason to underestimate them. Buffalo squandered many points last year versus opponents below them in the standings. I look for Tuch to get going tonight and Peterka to have a strong game. I would like to see Comrie start again, ride the hottest hand. Get a couple early and shut their fans up. Show them who the better team is from the get go. Let’s go Buffalo!

What a huge win. They stayed at it for all three periods, taking it to this tired team. I can’t fault anyone for bad or lazy play, good effort all around. Comrie was signed to be a starter, when healthy he has had success. Maybe he can push Levi and carry a bigger load than I thought. Mitts was excellent tonight, Greenway is playing like a new man and JJP is a force on the verge of breaking out. Mule with some nice hits and a goal. They were even winning tons of draws. Good building block game. Win the next one and start clawing up the standings.
