    Gonna miss this one. My son is in his regional hockey championships this afternoon. A couple of wins away from qualifying for the provincial tourney.

    I like Jaden Schwartz. Sign him to an offer sheet and give up some future picks. He's highly skilled and still young.

    Matty Mo will score against his "old" team, busting the slump. Unusual to see a young forward like Couyle with number 3.

    I recall Babcock talking about team stats a few years ago. One stat he valued was goal differential. We're sitting at -21 after 65 games and trending towards zero. We are 24th in the league and a few more wins like last game can get us to the mid teens. Washington 30 plus ahead of next best with +61.

    He's gone, let's move on. See what kind of numbers he puts up after someone gives him 4x 4.5M. Probably not Moulson like, but a dip would be expected unless he plays top line minutes and PP on his '16-'17 team. Ducks can play him with Getzlaf and Perry inflate his numbers and them trade him at the draft. Maybe GMTM has a favour from Bob Murray to have the inside track on Fowler at the draft. The old future considerations trade.

    Foligno hasn't scored as many goals because McGinn was getting the PP duty. Seriously, I like McGinn but he was going and is replaceable. We're not the only sellers here folks.

    McGinn's stats were decent due to him getting PP time, which he would get less of if Ennis were around. He may have been on there to inflate the stats for a better return. Foligno or Bailey would pot as many goals play in that role on the PP. Bottom line, we got something for a guy that had one foot out the door. If GMTM wanted him, he would've kept him.

    Leafs have a new logo and should change to a Smurf blue colour to go along with their 3 "biggest" prospects: Wilhelmina Nylander, Midget Marner and Casper Kapanen.

    I will watch the start and probably fall asleep near the end of the first. Got an ice fire going on a stormy night. A great start may keep me up longer.

    Leafs are in flagrant tank mode, we're not in their league this year. Let's just play the game and let us finish where we belong. We won't make a heroic run to 9th. Give their fans the gears whenever you can, they were hard on us last year. I don't like them but would prefer them winning the lottery over the Oilers.

    I like McGinn but he is asset that other teams will want for the Cup run. There's no certainty we can extend him for a decent price, would he take a discount when he can cash in on a once in a career chance. Will he be the same player in 3-4 years? Will his skills erode a la Moulson? Many people wanted Moulson back after his rental move. If he loves it here, we will be near the top of his list and have a chance to get him in July.

    Cornel with another multi point night. 11th in OHL scoring with 70 pts in 56 games. Will Borgen, Brendan Guhle and Ivan Chukarov with assists. Cal Peterson and Jason Kasdorf both lost but made 30 + saves. Sean Malone with a goal. I believe he becomes a free agent after this season if we don't sign him, correct?

    I'm Canadian but have never had any desire to cheer for a Canadian team in the playoffs just for the sake of the flag. I realize that every team is made up of multiple nationalities regardless of home base. The Stanley Cup makes its tour through Canada and other parts of the world in the summer no matter who wins. Besides, I have a hate on for the Leafs, Senators and Canadiens as long time rivals. I've never liked the Canucks. Flames were OK with MacInnis and I admired the 80's Oilers. I was a fan of Hawerchuk before his Sabres days. I did pull for the Nordiques a few times, but mainly against the Habs. Bottom line, I cheer for certain players when Buffalo is out.

    Sabres pass Jets in overall standings. Jets do have 2 games in hand but our team has been on an upswing. I'd much rather the Jets get Matthews than the Oilers.

    Murray had seen Lehner up close for many years, definite inside information.

    Promise him a few games at the end of the year and some cold hard cash. He hopefully appreciates the fact that GMTM traded for him and wants him on this team.
