  1. Nilsson is a meh back up. I doubt he makes it to February as the back up this season. Ullmark will push him soon.
  2. This makes absolute zero sense to me unless they're giving up an asset back with him. Niemi is not someone I trust, and has really regressed each of the past two seasons. I'd rather make a play for someone else.
  3. Ville Lameo is the choice. Closest otherwise for me would be Afinogenov.
  4. Who cares? Vanek is a fringe 20 goal scorer at this point and he doesn't offer much else. He's not going to light the world on fire. He's an "okay" gamble on a one year deal for Detroit. But, shrugs, he's not an answer for Buffalo.
  5. Boedker is worth a look by someone. Though he's more of a speed and supplemental scoring winger, you'd think someone would want him.
  6. That's a good signing, when it's low key.
  7. Any actual noise from sources?
  8. He definitely fits more than Lucic who is not fast enough.
  9. Meh. AHL scrub depth.
  10. That's good news!
  11. I agree, I don't want him for more than $3.5.
  12. Exactly what I feel. It's okay $$ wise, but the term is bleh. Not a fan of that amount of years.
  13. Enjoy Detroit who is in need of a top six forward. I want nothing to do with Okposo above 6M. He's not that complete a player.
  14. No on Okposo. Versteeg for a year, and Vesey.
  15. I don't want McGinn back unless its a 3 year 3M per. He's going to get overpaid by someone else hopefully.
  16. Personally take what comes to you, don't overextend your hand. I would wait and see what there is to offer up for, and unless you get someone at the right fit, don't just overpay to overpay. Getting Ristolainen done is the most important thing at this venture.
  17. I really don't see why people are that upset about Stamkos, he didn't make it to open market, so nothing to get that absurdly upset about. I don't really love Okposo that much and overpaying him would be a mistake. I'd rather go after Boedker who doesn't make much sense either.
  18. Getting Ristolainen done, and then looking at someone for the top six.
  19. It does not look legitimate, IMO.
  20. Now can we trade Franson for a sixth round pick :D
  21. It's what they needed to do. The only way I'm sure Larsson was traded was for Hall. Eberle and RNH weren't going to cut it, though RNH is more a fit for what they need long term.
  22. I'm glad that he stayed in Tampa Bay. It allows the Sabres to grow their players their way. Stamkos would have been an amazing fit on any new team, but he probably just saw nothing to grant him the desire to leave a team set for the playoffs for at least next season (in general). This hamstrings Detroit the most.
  23. And here's the Sabres attitude that is still sitting in the pre-Reinhart closet. Really Callaway? LOL, I'm sure Stamkos is considering any team willing to offer him north of 10+ per season. If he wants to go elsewhere for 11-13M, I truly won't be phased.
  24. I can see why Trouba is someone they would target, he plays a phsyical game with offensive upside. Sort of the direct opposite of Hamilton, who is more of an offensive D with size.
  25. Two second round picks for someone who wasn't even good enough to play in the top six, and now non-tendered. Unless they're trying to reduce his $$ to re-sign him by Friday, this is a terrible move. But, hey, Frederic was a reach at 29, continues to prove the point: Neely shouldn't be the president of an NHL franchise and Sweeney is off his rocker.
