  1. I meant space as in RHD. It frees up a spot to make a move for Shattenkirk or another upgrade at RHD. That's what I was trying to imply. The difference in salary between the two is about 750K-800K, which is about the difference of Justin Bailey.
  2. If you can get #4 and Eberle for Bogosian and #8, then you make that move and laugh it off. It frees up space, controls your draft board and you have the chance to make another move to get D in a different avenue. The question is: Dubois, Nylander, Juolevi or my boy Tkachuk. I hope they cannot, McKenzie is usually right on these things, but I want them stuck in the hole with Datsyuk for this season. :D
  3. I personally cannot stomach that second trade at all. Eberle isn't worth that at all. I know he can put up between 25-35 goals a season, but he's not worth all of that. #8 for Shattenkirk makes some sense. I'd still prefer to keep the pick.
  4. He'd mark an improvement, with Caggiula as a different type of forward that they've gone towards from recently. I know they drafted Bear, Jones, and a few others and guys like Davidson, Klefbom (if he can stay healthy) showed improvement....they're still the worst defensive structured team in the NHL.
  5. I meant as in this is his last year. I only meant that he could be easily dealt as he's under 30 and can pass the puck well enough.
  6. My second round and third round list is up: At least some guys I'm looking at, Dineen, Asplund, Laberge, Niemelainen, Fox, Grundstrom, Makinen, Rasanen, Kyrou.
  7. And by that time the only surplus defensemen that Buffalo may be looking to peddle elsewhere are: Gorges and Franson (with a year left). I still think someone who misses out on the: Yandle, Goligoski, Demers, group could come calling for Franson who should be easy to move out, as long as he's medically cleared.
  8. Short answer, nope.
  9. He goes back to the desert for one last hoorah before setting off to stink like expired deli meat.
  10. Then he'll go #6 to Calgary, and they will laugh on their way to the podium. Or he goes to his daddies Coyotes to join Dvorak and Domi!
  11. Exactly, Eberle is not worth #8, I don't know where that would even come into play. I wouldn't give up more than #38 and parts. He is a fine skater and he scores goals, but at the same time, I would rather wait and look at Vesey, and other pieces. There are few players in the league that I would even consider letting Rasmus go for. *There are scenarios but completely unlikely gambits. Vrbata was lost playing with anyone from Henrik Sedin, Bo Horvat, McCann and so on last season. He couldn't gel and to be honest he's a guy like Kessel where he demands the puck on his stick to create. He's not a seamless goal scorer.
  12. I agree with Larsson, he belongs in the middle on our third line. He's a staple for that line, whether he plays with Foligno, Gionta, Bailey, Baptiste, Carrier or an addition, that's where he belongs. I think you can always put a defensive minded forward on a line with an ultra worldly offensive minded player. Though Jack isn't someone who will not defend himself.
  13. I see him as a Pavelski type, where he can play center and right wing. There is a lot to like. If he fell to 8, which seems unlikely, that'd be a great selection as well.
  14. 4 more days until Hockey Christmas. I'm so pumped. I don't care if we don't move and end up with the best of Nylander, Chychrun, Juolevi, or Sergachev. At this point, I'm pumped for what happens after. I do think the Sabres will make a trade, even if it is seen as a minor upgrade.
  15. Rasmus Ristolainen is worth more than anyone on their roster outside of perhaps McDavid. At this point it would take #4, Draisaitl, #19 and Nurse for me to even consider dealing Rasmus. You don't deal #1 defensemen for Jordan Eberle or Taylor Hall. HAH!
  16. More so on the second pair. I don't see him as a top pairing defensemen. But, when you factor in age, he's signed to a nice term for a while it's appealing. He doesn't fit the need of a PP QB, but he offers versatility and would be an upgrade over McCabe. Despres-Bogosian McCabe-Pysyk/Nelson Looks decent. I'm all for any number of possibilities, but the D has to be altered and upgraded for sure. If Despres is more feasible a target at $$ for the acquisition than Fowler, I'm all about acquiring someone that we can control entering his prime.
  17. Im interested in Despres as much as I am Fowler. Note that Lindholm would be the optimum talent to acquire, but Despres does a lot on both sides of the puck.
  18. Age, contract, shot selection. I know he was knicked up last year, but I just don't buy him for the next two years. I'd rather resign the Ristolainen and see what that looks like than add 7.8M for a guy on the wrong side of 30, who I don't have faith in.
  19. Bailey could play as early as next season. He just had to work on small things, he has pro speed and size/shot. Pujuljarvi is so undervalued, and his speed would be so mesmerizing next to Eichel. If there was a Zemgus or Ennis, Foligno and #8 to get Puljujarvi, you laugh to the bank. I love Zemgus, but he has a very similar game to Larsson.
  20. Jesus, **** no. This is the trade target that is an absolute hard line "No!" for me. Unless they take Moulson, pass!
  21. Didn't he have a deadline to pass, and if he didn't sign he goes to UFA. Or am I pulling this out of my @$$.
  22. Sounds like it True. I just avoid malls! Online shopping is where it's at!
  23. I think so. Pujuljarvi is about as tantalizing a prospect as there is in this draft.
  24. I concur, and there's no way to know what will and won't happen. I still believe 100% that we'll end up with a D, unless there's some unexpected move no one sees coming.
  25. I'm definitely leaving Ennis unprotected, has a lot of skill and just hasn't found his way into the top six to make the impact you need. I'm ready to move on from Ennis, Gorges, and Moulson for sure.
