Touche, that's the #1 asset I'd love. I'd be okay taking a 2nd and Devon Toews, Aho.

Snoke had better not be dead. That entire scene was a crock of ######. For a villain that was supposed to be more powerful than Vader / Palpatine, I truly believe it was lackluster. There were parts I definitely liked. However, it did not live up to the hype for me. It was a step up from Awakens. I will have to watch it again at a point to further digest. I loved Rose.

I just cannot see this team trading for a player in his age 30 season that breaks down each and every season, has not played a caliber of Norris trophy defense in at least 3 seasons and carries a ridiculous cap hit will help this team long term. This is a TERRIBLE idea. I for one will be pissed off if we trade Evander Kane even as a pure rental for any part of Letang. There are any number of defensemen that I'd rather have on this roster long term than Letang. I don't think Letang is a terrible player and it's not his fault for the monumental injury concerns. Trading for Justin Faulk who is at least sturdy enough to play a full 70 plus games makes more sense. The Penguins will have to eat a majority of his salary and include Sprong for this to make sense. I hate building the blueline through over priced, aged, damaged goods. Do we need another injury risk similar to Bogosian. **** that. Furthermore, this conjecture is a prolific joke.

Sabres prospects in the World Juniors this year

That was one of the best jukes I've seen non McDavid in a while. WOW. Last year's draft class is showing a lot better than it got initially hailed. At least at the top. With: Pettersson, Hischier, Tolvanen, Glass, Suzuki, and Patrick all doing nice things. The more you watch Mittelstadt, the more you see dynamic. This is better all around skill and play than Reinhart has ever shown. Sorry Reino. Exactly, (on Nylander) you're never going to have a team full of two way players. There are going to be times that you develop an all offensive player. Nylander is only 19 and sometimes players take more time to marinate. His brother isn't swift in both zones. Yes, you'd hope to see more. -
What are you trading to get Domi? I don't see him being traded even with his limited goal scoring in the past season and a third.

I like this idea in Z for Duclair. Duclair can skate with Eichel and sadly at age 22 is looking for his third potential team.

Exactly, well said. This is all about head space. The ability to show his strength and continue to push is what he needed with this tournament. Not necessarily that he needed to be there, but the realization that he has the talent to be above that. He's one step away, but that step is a big one to jump into the NHL. -

Thanks Modo! -
Larsson, Jones, Mahura, Steel to name a few guys that are appealing.

This one possibly.

I don't want a defender in the middle of a bloated contract who could go down for the count like a broken piece of reinforced glass. Keep Letang and his glass jaw. This is a stupid idea. Grasping for straws.

This would be the obvious dream scenario. However, Okposo's value is so limited at the moment. Unless someone wants him on the cheap.

See I'm going more Hughes, Boqvist and then praying for upside on that pick. :P However, Dahlin will be someone to watch as he blitzkriegs this tournament. -
Awesome thread, ty Flaggy. I agree with Reinhart for sure. I've thrown in the towel on him at this point.

Making five million living in Southern Cali, avoiding the frigid winter of Buffalo's hell. All at the same time not being booed off the ice on the PP. MattyMo, sip a Moulson and enjoy the good life.

Trading Ocho might be smart. He needs a clean break. -

Cannot fault you for that one. Though their defense is pretty amazing. Blah! -

Also, why are two slow skaters on the PP. Pommer and Reinhart....No one to skate it properly into the zone. Ugh. -

Watching Nolan play reminds me of how much I'd rather see John Scott. -

I leave to get my wings and we're already down 1-0. Merry F'N Christmas :P -
I truly believe if you do right by him now so he doesn't sour on a bottom place finish and let him see that we care about his ability to win. I think it benefits. Now, you try to gauge his interest in coming back before doing so. IMO, trading him is what you need to do for the betterment of the team long term.
-
Yes, and yes he should be traded. If they want to go all out and try to re-sign him in the offseason, maximizing his value and explaining that it's for the betterment of the team is what happened with Moulson. If Kane was going to sign an extension what makes you think he wouldn't if he spent some time in a winning environment. The team/management does right by him by trading him for a chance to make the playoffs and retain him after we get some cap off this summer.
-
Good, the tournament got some more match up intrigue.
-
I never believed he would make it to open market. If he did, it would be a similar situation with Stamkos. Maybe not less money per say, but that he ended up staying.
-
I think it comes to the fact with Marchessault that they didn't really have a place for him in their top six and he's an all offense player. He's a luxury for Vegas for sure. He'll likely get locked up by them to buy up a little bit of cap. As for Smith, he never found his magic after his first good season in Florida. I think it just comes down to crunching numbers after you sign extensions with: Barkov, Trochek, Huberdeau, Matheson, in the last season as well as Bjugstad/Ekblad the season before. I'm sure they'd rather have not paid Yandle in the long thick of it.
