  1. Looks like another quality hire, and someone outside of the general realm of his comfort zone (Pittsburgh). Botterill is not afraid to go outside of the realm of thinking.
  2. So true, but we're trying to attribute this to cheap depth with speed. Which is where Josefsson comes in.
  3. 6 x 6.5-6.75M per season. If we were to retain him.
  4. Like when Jack was wearing 41, it has no merit on anything really. He'll have his own number in two seasons once he turns pro. By that point we'll be done with Moulson, Pominville, and a few others.
  5. Shrugs, I guess he'd be an improvement over Gorges and Bogosian, but I think he doesn't have as much offensive upside as Beaulieu and or Antipin. I don't really miss him that much. He's a useful mid pairing defensemen.
  6. Can we trade him back to Ottawa for Colin White, mumbles. I still don't dislike Robin, he has a Viking type aura, and if he could work on the small ticks in his game he could improve. I'm good with starting him and if we get something too good to pass up then move on from him. However, for now he's fine.
  7. Hainsey is such rubbish. I find him to be as average as Taylor Fedun or Justin Falk. Obviously he's better than that, but I don't think he's particularly more than average at anything.
  8. GM: Garth Snow HC: Tortorella F: Alex Ovechkin D: Chris Tanev G: Pekka Rinne
  9. I believe Botts also said that he would sign Lehner within the month. Could he be waiting to see the goalie market / UFA goalie market thin out before trading him?
  10. Josefsson isn't someone you'll worry about waiving if for some reason he wasn't able to break camp with the big club. However he does offer speed and skill to the bottom six forward group. He's never found success at scoring in 5v5 play, but he's an electric special teams talent.
  11. He played with Sean Malone at Harvard. So there's a connection there. Botterill is doing what he said, putting an effort in both Rochester and Buffalo to create a winning culture. I love it so far.
  12. Shrugs, he had a really strong season for Calgary. He's worth the 1.75-2.25M area so I guess it's not out of question.
  13. Vlasic making 7M per year is astounding for him. I couldn't see that previous, but good for him! I think that's a retarded move. Jones looked like an elite goalie for a 1/3 of his starts last season.
  14. He played a few pretty solid periods for sure down the stretch in the final ten games or so.
  15. Kane for Kempe, Clague and picks. Done :) Ennis got moved.....Anything is possible.
  16. Is it just me or is it complete crap that three of the four are Sabres. I'd rather have Pitlick, Nesterov (Russian factor) and Dwight King over those three. Not to mention former Sabre, might be coming back to the fold Chad Johnson (bleh). I doubt it, I still think he's a spare...I think it's more likely that Nylander, Bailey, Baptiste or Rodrigues, or Fasching makes it into the line up more regularly. Bailey still needs more seasoning / refinement to get polished. Baptiste and Fasching probably have the best cases to be up next season.
  17. I think there's some room in there for someone like King. He'd be a complimentary piece to replace the physical side of Foligno's game.
  18. Make this happen, and I can live with Moulson Light for the next few seasons. Who really would have thought that Ennis being protected meant trading him for a better player in an area (even strength scoring) could have happened. Bogosian to where is the real question. Arizona?!?
  19. No thank you. We need to move away from trading/signing for glass half full players. Mainly in the sense that his numbers are just empty stat filler. I really don't want to see Vanek back unless it's for dirt cheap on a one year deal. I'm happy in the sense that Ennis is leaving, and I do wish him luck. He was always the best player working his tail off on bad Nolan teams in year one and two of the Murray lock out. He needs a change of pace. Foligno was a heart and soul depth player, going to make upwards of 2.75-3M per season, for what? Hitting .....pass. Scandella has his warts, and that's the name of the game. But, this is just such a solid move. Even the pick involvement is minimal.
  20. Fine by me, I'd rather sign Stone, Buchter and Nesterov.
  21. So this is straight out of bogus land, but would it be crazy if Petersen came back as a part of the deal with Kane. LOL! (I am not being serious.)
  22. Meh, I've moved on from this, I'd rather have Nilsson (back) or Ullmark all season.
  23. Grigorenko is definitely the better player at this point. Which is hilarious. I remember watching Yakupov in junior thinking he could be something really special. Amazing what busts can look like at lower levels.
  24. He'll get north of 7. I would almost bet he'd become our highest paid player over O'Reilly. I don't think it's impossible, I just think with extensions coming up especially for Eichel, we're going to need to alocate other areas.
  25. Way to much cost in that, as well as the fact he's a one trick pony. I would rather take a look at a more reasonable case.
