He'll need to bulk up, but if he's molded correctedly, I'm sure he'll make a big splash.
-
I agree with this. But it could be a boom or bust moment for us. And the bust would be a bad one. At least I don't want GMTM going after JT wingers. Waste of time and money.
-
I don't think anyone is arguing we should rely on "all home grown talent". Our team should be significantly better even if we make no moves. If Kulikov works out and Vesey signs and is decent, I think we'll be fine. They aren't home grown. Next offseason, we can reassess where we are, how far away from a SC run, and then act according by adding more non-home grown talent.
-
Not to mention to ensure the opposing team win.
-
That is a great article. Everyone should be proud.
-
It doesn't. It just alters it. Kulikov has shown that he's a dedicated player who know how to excel in the NHL and not run off to the KHL. Drafting Russian players is a whole different story.
-
At this point, I'd even be satisfied with Buffalo running up the price so high it cripples the team he signs with.
-
OK. If you go to the Buffalo News webpage, you'll see the Nylander story as the top story. There is a photo of presumably our pick Nylander wearing a Sabres hat and sweater. But who if the other guy is the hat and jersey?
-
Duh. Obviously sexual work.
-
This is obviously overcompensation by GMTM in an attempt to throw the "I hate Russians" reputation. Really, this guy is the epitome of what GMTM hates.
-
July 1st. The rules.
-
I think Kane is going to be one way or another. Plus, there's Vesey.
-
It's official now. GMTM hates Russian players.
-
Definitely. In fact, Terry should grant Vesey a one-time dinner date with Kim in exchange for a signed ELC.
-
Where is it. Post it. Actually, I would love the be at the draft and casually leave behind various fake team draft sheets. I would leave some by the condiments, in a bathroom stall, etc.
-
Or even worse, Russ Brandon sightings.
-
This. I just don't want GMTM's MO of trading away 1st round draft picks to become his norm. He has already dumped off too many 1st rounders for my liking. I don't want this to become a pattern. Not good enough. The Bills were elite for about 4-5 years and we all know what happened next.
-
We definitely don't know what we're getting with #8, but I trust GMTM will pick the right one. What's even more vaporware is a pick in 20-30 range, which I hope where we'll be drafting for the foreseeable future. #8 is a unique situation I doubt we'll sniff for awhile.
-
True. But there's going to come a time when we have a lot of great vets that are going to be clamoring for huge contracts. What happens then? We'll have the unload them and I hope we have decent replacements in our system to fill the void. If we don't, we'll be heading for another rebuild. We can't let this team get too top heavy.
-
Mortgaging the future by trading away top-10 picks is the exact thing that will place us in a perpetual rebuild. We may be great for the next 4-5 years, but what happens after that when we can't afford our players and the cupboards are bare? Blow it up again by trading off all our overpriced vets? We're going to need a steady stream of quality players.
-
I want to win now...but also 4 years from now. We shouldn't deplete our system of prospects just to win now.
-
That's a very reasonable approach. Let him speak to teams and then pick 3 teams he would be happy with. Once you get that list, you play each team against each other to get the best trade. Each team will not want to wait until Aug 15th for fear of being traded to another team he'll sign with. Win-win situation for everyone.
-
Makes perfect sense. Thanks.
-
Not directed at you, but someone has to help me out with these "offensive" defenseman vs "defensive" defenseman. I really don't understand why we would need a defenseman to produce offense for us when we already have offensive players? Why exactly would we need a defenseman to run our PP?
-
No warning needed. I can confirm this rumor. So, in effect, it's no longer a rumor: Boston fans are . Is the ink dry yet?
