  1. Probably would have been more had it happened in the regular season. Glad they at least gave him something, he deserves it. Tampa is definitely in an even greater hole now.
  2. Just what we need—more senselessly retired numbers.
  3. The team already came out and said they would be celebrating their 50th year this year. The Canucks also are.
  4. Regis was great to the fans, or at least STH. They had a ton of fan events.
  5. It is. It was moved up to give it its own day rather than sandwiched between intermissions of playoff games.
  6. Two months ago nobody within the organization could have expected to move on from Housley. Likely there was some communication breakdown between Housley and the players. Modern coaches need to be talking to players day in and day out to help them understand what is expected. Players now are looking for more direction. I don’t remember much being said about on ice results. Eichels name came up in terms of communicating. Said Botts must have known there was a problem to not do exit interviews first bI’m at work but later this afternoon I’ll find the times. He probably only spends about five minutes or so on buffalo.
  7. Dreger was on the most recent Spittin’ Chicklets and talked a little bit about the Housley firing and what could be in store moving forward. https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/spittin-chiclets/id1112425552?mt=2&i=1000434403361
  8. Not to get off-focus here, but I’m really interested in birds of prey and potentially having my own someday or becoming a falconer. I’d love to hear more about it. Raptors are cool as hell, really going to miss seeing them everyday once I move.
  9. While I disagree with JJ on this particular issue, I’m all for the display of unity.
  10. In my mind Kakko would have a greater immediate impact on the team, but the Hughes-Kane comparisons get me pretty excited. I certainly wouldn’t be disappointed with either.
  11. Lottery odds (Fewest Points to Most) Colorado Avalanche (from OTT) 18.5% Los Angeles Kings 13.5% New Jersey Devils 11.5% Detroit Red Wings 9.5% Buffalo Sabres 8.5% New York Rangers 7.5% Edmonton Oilers 6.5% Anaheim Ducks 6.0% Vancouver Canucks 5.0% Philadelphia Flyers 3.5% Minnesota Wild 3.0% Chicago Blackhawks 2.5% Florida Panthers 2.0% Arizona Coyotes 1.5% Montreal Canadiens 1.0% The odds for the remaining clubs will increase on a proportionate basis for the 2nd Lottery Draw, based on which club wins the 1st Lottery Draw, and again for the 3rd Lottery Draw, based on which club wins the 2nd Lottery Draw.
  12. Here’s to lucky balls and Jack Hughes
  13. What?! That’s EMELIO! The Mighty Duck man himself.
  14. Skinner for sure and it’s not really close. RJ has been unlistenable on the radio since at least 2016 and isn’t all that impressive on MSG anymore either. Give me a winning team and we could have Jack Edwards and Tripp Tracy for all I care.
  15. Stapled to Eichel’s hip on his off-wing
  16. Eichel isn’t infallible, yet you’ve been treating him as such. Yes, it’s not his fault we are a *****-ass team, but he certainly could have been better. He’s the face of the franchise and the captain of the team. Right or wrong, people are going to expect more out of him than everyone else. You keep saying what about this guy or that guy, and yes those are valid points, but your franchise player is always going to be the most talked about and most scrutinized. It’s a much bigger deal when Eichel doesn’t perform or lollygags around the ice or to the bench on shift changes or displays a pisspoor attitude. Every Sabres fan knows Jack Eichel and has certain expectations of him that go far beyond the scoresheet. You keep deflecting away from Eichel to others, but guess what—most Sabres fans care far more about Eichel than anyone else in the organization so he’s going to be the most discussed and scrutinized. You don’t need to chime in every thread that he’s criticized with deflecting responsibility.
  17. In my opinion Universal is far better than Disney. It’s less crowded, far less expensive, and less child-oriented.
  18. I totally agree with the universal trip, one of the best vacations I’ve ever had. Definitely stay at one of the resorts, you’ll get “free” express passes and early access to Harry Potter World.
  19. Am under 30 and I have no idea what he was talking about
  20. Read the article earlier at work and wanted to make a post about it. Agree with what’s been said here, particularly about Lafontaine. Everyone should give it a read (and sign up for the athletic while they’re at it)
  21. I would recommend DC with a stop at Gettysburg along the way. The Nationals will be in town and you might also have the option of a Caps playoff game. The Smithsonians are great (and free), as is the National Zoo (free) and the aquarium (not free) in the Baltimore Harbour if you can make it up there. If it would be his first time, monument tours are a great way to get an initial appreciation for the country’s history, especially at night when everything is lit up. Arlington and the changing of the guard is also a must. I was big into DC when I was his age (and still am), but it’s certainly not for everyone. It’s an incredibly walkable city and while the hotel and food can get expensive, it’s easy to limit expenses there.
  22. We had already lost the lottery at that point and knew we were getting Jack, right?
  23. I didn’t know they were making it into a series. Such a great movie.
