  1. According to http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/131434524/nhl-most-tortured-fan-bases-stanley-cup-buffalo-sabres, the Buffalo Sabres fan base has got it the worst. It's been pretty bad the last few years, but I'm not sure we're the most tortured. Not sure who else would be though. Thoughts?
  2. Apparently the asking price for Kessel has been set too high. I know there has been a lot of discussion around here about him, but what does everyone think they are asking? 1st, top 6/4, and a prospect?
  3. Sharp to be traded in the next week https://twitter.com/BrianHedger/status/611891625355276288
  4. Great write-up! I'm looking forward to part two.
  5. I hadn't heard any of that. That's pretty bold of them to continue the show with all of that change upcoming. I haven't watched much of the last probably five seasons, but I will say that the episodes I have seen lately are very hit or miss. It's a shame that they couldn't have gone out on a higher note, the first 15 or so seasons were very good TV.
  6. Uh...So what does that say about your face/skin?
  7. There is no way that Zadorov alone gets you #3. Maybe I'm a little low on Big Z, but I don't think he alone even gets you into the top 8 or so.
  8. I've got a full beard right now and there really isn't much of a difference as far as comfort in the heat goes.
  9. It definitely takes some chances. If the draft were to stay true to the board and Zacha is available at 21, I would be ecstatic. Even with his down year, watching him in the playoffs this season against Erie was a treat. I don't remember if it showed on the scoresheet, but I thought he looked very physical and didn't lose many battles. He did spend some time in the box though, which seems to be a big issue for him.
  10. I feel like Arizona is going to go the offensive route, but in a few years a pairing of Hanifan and OEL would be fun to watch. I think that if they weren't in financial trouble, Hanifan would be the pick but offense sells. I could be wrong, but I seem to remember Toronto wanting Strome to fall to them at four. If Arizona takes him, what are the chances they aren't sold on Marner and try to move that pick? Edit: http://www.torontosun.com/2015/06/09/pre-draft-talks-heating-up-shanahanI guess this answers my question. As a secondary question, I wonder who the second player TO is high on. I'd really like to have Marner on this team, but I don't think that's going to happen.
  11. Great write up! I would take a chance on Zacha. There's a reason he was so highly rated coming into the season. I get that the suspensions may be worry some, but I think he would be a great fit.
  12. I would argue that Marner will be better than everyone in that draft, less Matthews. I'd rather get Marner than have a chance at Matthews.
  13. Isn't 21 the NYI pick? If you mean 31, 21 and next year's first, I absolutely do it. Marner is a terrific talent and will be better than Tofolli, so we wouldn't need to make that offer sheet (not that we would be able to then). EDIT: Didn't mean to link that video, but it will do. Just know there are more impressive ones out there.
  14. Isn't it a little early to say that Murray overpaid for Kane/Bogo? Armia, Lemieux, and Kane have all yet to play for their new teams. If only Kane makes it, isn't Bogo/Kane for Myers and a pick a steal? Maybe it's viewed a little different if Stafford gets an extension there, but I'm pretty sure most people around here are indifferent when it comes to him.
  15. It's probably not too realistic, but I'd love for them to try and move up to get Marner. He would fill a position of need and could possibly be NHL ready. I would think it would take at least 21st and 2016 1st. Having watched Marner play quiet a few times, I would rather have a guaranteed him over a shot at Matthews and the top three next year.
  16. Someone around here floated the idea of Nikita, Grigs, and a pick for ROR and I always figured that would be around what COL would look for. As long as we are able to lock up ROR afterwards, I think I'd be okay with it.
  17. I was pretty certain that Denis Hamel was going to be a perennial all-star and then the Islanders went and screwed that one up. I still dislike them because of it. As others have said, I still believe in CoHo so that one could always come back and make me look pretty dumb.
  18. I've got a pretty full outfield so I didn't pick him up, but I recommended him to some of our teams who weren't doing very well. I had a feeling he would come out blazing and since he has, I'd try to get as much from him in a trade. I'm not sure if you're in a keeper or a redraft league, but if it's keeper, there's a lot better youth options struggling you could move him for.
  19. I didn't know too much about either of those guys, so I just looked them both up and that seems like too little for the pair of them. Maybe that's where one of eiter Bailey or Bapitse could come into play.
  20. If I'm NYR, I'm all over that deal. Nash/Tarasenko on the same line probably sounds pretty good to the Blues management, but that's a lot to give up.
  21. I think that's probably the safer play, but I really believe Marner has the higher upside than Strome. I went to a few games of that playoff series and Marner really blew me away.
  22. I'm sorry, but if Nolan was a fine coach he wouldn't have so many issues finding and holding down a real job. OHL teams don't even want to hire him, what do you think that says? Also, and this isn't directed at you necessarily, but what makes Nolan so "admirable?" I've seen that sentiment before and I've never understood it. Between the rumors from his first stint and his lack of relationship with GMTM, I don't see how anyone could believe Nolan was some great guy.
  23. Harrington more than likely did not write it.
