  1. I'm still expecting our odds to be middle of the pack. Obviously you take Matthews and then flip him to the Coyotes for OEL, Domi, and their first!
  2. What are the odds GMTM moves up in the draft to get Chychrun to fill the hole in the d?
  3. It seems like there are a growing number of concerned fans both on the board and elsewhere. Personally, I think this Sabres team is playing just as they should be, and wanted to look at how they compared to the past two seasons. I'm not sure what site is usually used for seeing in season splits, so all figures are from hockey-reference and are rounded up. Goals for Per Game 2013-2014: 1.71 2014-2015: 1.87 2015-2016: 2.38 % of Games Earning Points 2013-2014: 31.7% 2014-2015: 32.9% 2015-2016: 43.1% Leading Scorers 2013-2014: Cody Hodgson 44 Pts in 72 GP/ Ennis 21 Goals/ One 20+ goal scorer/ 4 players 30+ points 2014-2015: Tyler Ennis 46 Pts in 80 GP/ Ennis 20 Goals/ One 20+ goal scorer/ 4 players 30+ points 2015-2016: Ryan O'Reilly 25 Pts in 29 GP/ ROR/Eichel 9 Goals/ 2 players with 20+ points Powerplay is also 9% better than last Feel free to add more reasons as to why this team is significantly better. Should everyone be hoping we win the lottery? Absolutely, you should have been wanting to prior to the season (technically we all should have been rooting for The Cup, but whatever). Are we as bad as we were last season? Not even close.
  4. People really need to calm down around here. I think everyone* is forgetting just how awful we were last year. Games weren't even fun to watch. Is it frustrating that we are losing? Yes. But if you expected this team to have more than 80 points, you deserve to be let down. Eichel and Reinhart will boh be fine, plus/minus still doesn't matter, and the Sabres are still much improved. Does it matter what place we finish in? The last two seasons our point total was in the 50s!!!!! We're a lottery team, everyone should have assumed that going into the season. Our place in the standings mean nothing so long as our total amount of points goes way up. GoDD comes back and half the board shoves their head up their ###### and thinks Eichel won't be any good and the entire organization should be fired. The Sabres will be fine, they look much improved and the games are fun to watch again. *Not literally
  5. Jumping Jack Flash! was much better than Yeichel
  6. I'm not sure what your jurisdiction is like, but if my local police weren't pulling people over going that fast in a 25 MPH zone I would be furious. In my experience, the lower the speed limit is, the more residential the area is. Driving faster than intended in an area around children is reckless and inexcusable and those speeds should be an indicator of their presence.
  7. I voted "C" only because I think he's been pretty average outside of not relocating. I don't think he's done a bad job by any means, but once it's all added up, he's been average. After this season of hockey, if the ship stays its course, that'll probably be a C+.
  8. I recently started playing Franchise Hockey Manager and Gionta scored a hat trick this game for the Sabres first of the season. I have no reason to think a computer game would lie to me, so he's my bet and it'll happen tonight.
  9. When I was a young kid (7/8ish), the Sabres were holding a practice at the Pepsi Center while I had a game. Once the game finished, I took the elevator up to the second floor to watch the practice. As I was stepping off of the elevator, Rob Ray rudely tried to get on and then made a comment about my lack of manners for not moving out of his way. Ever since then, Rob Ray has been my absolute least favorite Sabre. I'd love nothing more than him to be off of the broadcast team and shipped to Ottawa again. Everyone knows the person coming off has the right of way, Rob.
  10. The best way to explain is to think of it at the local level. Imagine there is a pothole in the street in front of your house and you decide to call your alderman to ask them to fix it. You state your case to them as to why it should be fixed and then they ignore you most likely because it's out of the budget. But that's lobbying in a nutshell. It's legal because it's how the general populace is supposed to shape their representatives. Unfortunately it gets abused into a favor system, but it's essential to our government.
  11. So, last time Bills and Sabres won same day?
  12. I didn't realize how much I like Fitzpatrick until now. It still sucks to see it not coming to fruition for him.
  13. Does anyone know the last time both Buffalo teams won on the same night/day?
  14. Likewise! I just recently separated from the Army (not off from school today either) so it's been a fun morning remembering all the good times while I was in and talking to old friends. Also, to touch on what you said, I know personally that both separating and being in the military can be a struggle and if there are any posters going through those issues I'm always will to lend an ear.
  15. What a nice play. Great start to the game.
  16. Zemgus is not good at faceoffs. ROR is good at faceoffs.
