  1. Linda Cohn didn't seem to optimistic. She posted a pic of her wearing a long face.
  2. Both true, but the type of player also factors in. Jack carries everything while Foligno and Dlo dump more often than not. As the roster evolves I think you will see less dump and more entries. And I think Kane, Dlo, Gionta and Foligno are classic retrievers so to speak.
  3. But dump and chase is a split second decision executed by a player. How would he go about influencing that other than playing time and line combos?
  4. DD said upon arrival said winning is directly related to playing more often in the o zone. I think his attention to detail about how you go about doing that is something I did not give him credit for. I stand corrected.
  5. There was a lot of insight into his thought process. It also showed why he and TM might get along. Both seem to emphasize not only possession but generating quality chances. Interesting listen.
  6. Nice catch. I have them reversed for years
  7. McAvoy destroyed Crouse. I think that was the biggest hit.
  8. It depends on if the other pieces allow it. If Nylander pans out, Bailey and Fasching develop, you will be able to roll 3 that even DD can trust. I think Sam is a natural C and would be wasted if not allowed to play there. Yes he had a great year and I think he continues in 2016, but he is better at C. Agin JMHO.
  9. Think 2 years down the road. ROR at 27 gets his load lightened and moves to the position where he posted his best offensive numbers. If he keeps up his production he stays in the top 6, or the Sabres roll 3 scoring lines. Either way win win for everyone.
  10. I actually think that was the plan all along.
  11. TM didn't draft Sam to be a RW. He will get 2nd unit pp time at center and will be a full time C in 2017-2018. ROR eventually moves to the wing in the top 6. He handles big draws in the D zone and kills penalties while still playing top minutes. Or the Sabres evolve to rolling 3 scoring lines. Jmho
  12. If you appreciate sport, and I can't fathom spending time on this board if one didn't, you have to celebrate the Aus v Bzl women's futbol (I have to respect it) tilt. It was another epic moment tonight. Both teams tried to win it in the first 10 minutes and failed. The contest that ensued was awesome. And both teams knew the giantwas dead, the USA was cooked. What a game.
  13. Mimmeographs...and paper....
  14. I would counter with Kulikov, Lehner Risto and McCabe. We have enough pieces up front even if we have to use Bailey Fasching and Carrier. The back end is more suspect.
  15. Taking the NASCAR analogy to the extreme, with the coming of ads on jerseys, will we get to a point where we identify a player with number regardless of team. "Wearing the the white #23 jersey give it up for Sam Reinhart!" Which by the way would be a great driver name.
  16. :worthy: :worthy: :worthy:
  17. Really? It took this long? :flirt:
  18. Jack and Sam acknowledged that Legwand was very helpful in showing them how to prepare for every game of an 82 game season. Gorges is Risto's binky.
  19. I wouldn't trade a valuable asset and create a hole for an asset of less importance based on need. We would have no one to fill the top pair hole. Both are good potentially great players, but not worth creating more need on d. Jmho.
  20. I disagree about Taylor, but we will see. As to drafting two every year, it doesn't matter if they can't play the position at the pro level. Too many spread offenses so drafting two every year is pointless unless you are willing to spend the time teaching them the game at the pro level. With salary cap, it is tough to carry a player you don't plan on using yet giving him enough practice reps to develop the necessary skills and the ability to read defenses. Once you do you have to commit long term or he walks in free agency. If you draft one high, there is always the temptation to rush them into the lineup before they are ready. You have to get lucky. Like Ink said there just not that many.
  21. A DT, WR and or CB won't really change anything. Unless the qb is in place it really doesn't matter. Unfortunately with the dearth of prostyle offenses in college producing fewer true passers, the outlook is not good that the Bills draft a true franchise qb anytime soon. TT is not a franchise qb, but an adequate placeholder IMHO.
  22. Striped bass or stripers. And those are pretty nice ones.
  23. What are Goldeye?
