This is a good comparison. Very calm, great positional awareness. ND is a short trip from here and saw him a few different times. I think he is our cup winning goalie.

I disagree to a point with the chemistry with ROR. I think it was more Sam just knowing whereto be with a bit of help from ROR. When Sam and Jack got together when Ryan was out it looked lime the game slowed down for both of them. The no look backhand Sam dished to Jack at center ice was otherworldly.

You traded the pick to be first. We did that. Now he has our pitch to use as the measuring stick. Ultimately it comes down in my humble opinion, as to whether Pgh, Chicago TB or a legitimate cup contender can offer him the same opportunity. PGH and Chi can and so can the SOCal teams if he wants to go there. Let them talk. While I agree there is no rush, inking him early gives TM new found currency to deal with, perhaps for more d or gt help.

I think opening a window for him to talk to other teams helps him save face and make a decision with a clear conscience. He can talk but can't sign with other teams for a week. If he does not sign with us after the week, we know he got a better deal or situation from someone else. There is no real downside because the money is the same. It comes down to fit as perceivedby Vesey. But if he really wants to feel like he exercised his rights (ufa) he needs comparables. Letting him talk but not sign essentially allows him to do that.

Even if he peaks at 20/20 he is a worthy addition and his bust factor is low. If we can add 2 20 goal guys wo giving up precious assets (a 3rd is not precious in my book) we officially move out of rebuild mode. Tweaks, yes, but we have taken a major step toward contention. The length of the thread is less about his ability and more about people being indignant about him using his unique situation to his advantage. Toe Blake Eddie Shore, old time hockey.

I have and he's ok. His offense is cancelled by the bonehead and selfish plays that lead to easy chances and goals. Risto is as good a skater and better in his own zone. Barrie is better on the point and on the power play which Risto can easily make up. Barrie and Fowler have plateaued, Risto is just scratching the surface. With Kulikov I think Risto takes a big jump this year without having to worry about joining in the offense with only Gorges back. I am in the 3 or 8 camp.

Why would the Hawks or any team give up anything for his rights when they can wait to 8/16? We are getting either Vesey or nothing and we won't know which until August.

There have been no toxicology reports indicating he was under the influence of any substance much less cocaine. The video hasn't been released and if the DA and investiators have seen it and are pursuing lesser non-criminal violations, they must not support the allegations as originally reported. So far the actions of the investigators seems most telling. -
Today was arts and crafts day. The older kids made nicer ashtrays.

Vesey is a luxury as well. We do not have any gaping holes on d. Could we upgrade? Probably, but we got a lhd to play with Risto. Vesey is a luxury we can afford, the other 2 would require creating more holes, unless Vesey was already in the fold.

I think Nelson is fighting for Gorges spot. I think Guhle gets top pair minutes, all situations in Rochester. Nelson due to his age may have the edge if he has bulked up.
