  1. Time zones and Force powers (magnets).
  2. Isn't Edvinsson ALSO Hedman? According to that infographic in the other thread? Do it, Stevie. Edvinss-it!
  3. I had Detroit taking Wallstedt.... but that was dependent on Eklund being off the board. The goalies will slide.
  4. Expectedly whelming. Owen Power will be fine. As long as we don't rush him to 20+ minutes. Thankfully, unlike say... Risto... he'll have Dahlin in front of him. Instead of... Myers and Meszaros.
  5. OK Anaheim --- Zegras + 3 + something for Eichel.... In a Palpatine voice, "Do it."
  6. I think Eklund wins the Calder in his first season. That guy is the one who will put up points. Now we just need to wait until all is said and done in 15 years to judge which pick was best.
  7. I'd have liked a forward, but alas....
  8. They haven't had reason to for the last decade. But they'll get their NHL2nite groove back on soon.
  9. We will learn patience.
  10. Had a beer. Got some more beer. Let's go! That said --- is tonight the night we reset the franchise? I still think we move Eichel tonight and then move Reino in-season as a "play well, drive up your value and we'll send you where we can that is good for you". But... are we ready for it?
  11. Why did they take the clumsy, unintelligible amphibian into the desert?
  12. Just tell them you electrocuted yourself and got thrown down a shaft by your apprentice. Then, go [monitor all the hockeys] and watch the draft. Show back up on Monday and say, "Somehow, WildCard returned." and don't explain it any further.
  13. Wait... wait... (Biggs' final words) Arizona is doing a ROR^2 deal?
  14. Well.... Thanks for your time, Rasmus the Elder! It's a shame the franchise elected to tank around him (and Zadorov) -- thereby forcing him into an NHL job before he'd honed his games, and then switched his coach every other year. I don't think he was ever going to meet his true potential once all that was in place. I'll miss the tenacity and willingness to throw hits with Ovechkin, the fact that he looks like Ivan Drago (or... I guess... Dolph), and that our likelihood of scoring a Rastrick is going to be much more difficult in the future.
  15. Communications disruption... delay... "Execute Order Forty-Two."
  16. [The Sabres] will make point-five past light speed. They may not look like much, but they've got it where it counts. It's draft day... it's the time of dreaming big and not worrying too much about living in Tatooine a championship desert. Someday we'll get off of this rock.
  17. But who are all the 14th overalls? Because that's the important thing. πŸΊπŸ˜‡
  18. I don't like Hagg's game all that much. I know Philly fans were completely underwhelmed by him. (Reading the thread, it appears his analytics match that.) But a change of scenery and playing 3rd pairing minutes for the start of this season seems fine for the short-term. I do like that Ristolainen netted a 1st, which he wasn't fetching as a rental at the trade deadline. On the Philly side -- this is a good move for them. They just got Ryan Ellis as a RHD. Ristolainen is not better than Ellis in any capacity except hits. So he fits nicely as a 2nd-pair guy for them with either Provorov or Sanheim. Good deal on their part.
  19. Wallstedt won't make it to 13th (14th) I don't believe. Cossa... will make a fine addition to my collection.
  20. 1. Eklund; 2. Beniers; 3. Power; 4. Hughes; 5. McTavish; 6. Wallstedt; 7. Johnson; 8. Edvinsson; 9. Guenther; 10. Clarke
  21. Go strap yourselves in. I'm going to make the jump to draft day.
  22. November 4th, eh? That's it. The Sabres are there. Set your course for the Hoth Pledge system.
  23. Exactly. The NHLPA would not allow it. unless... Part of the payment to do so would be to pay out all remaining contracts in full. Basically, the owner can't escape for having a reset button like a video game. The fellow owners would need to hold each other accountable. A large re-buy-in (expansion) fee... $250M or thereabouts paid out to the other owners. Then, the guaranteed payout of all remaining salaries so you can't just escape your poor judgment on contracts that got you into the current situation. It needs to be a sufficient deterrent that teams don't churn. Once every 8 years, sure. Every offseason? It'd be painful. There's enough turnover as there is.
  24. This just means that Boston is all-in on Wright and Bedard in the next two years.
  25. ^ I'm very curious what Carolina gave up to not pick Bean.
