Got bored killing time on an overnight shift and threw the entire roster into a blender over in Armchair GM. Eichel and Olofsson for Byfield, Kempe, Helge Grans (RHD prospect who needs two more years of development), 2021 LAK 1st (10th overall) Reinhart and Risto for Sean Monahan, Rasmus Andersson, 2021 CGY 2nd Tage, 2021 BOS 2nd and 2021 CGY 2nd for rights to Arizona RFA RW Conor Garland Asplund and Bryson to Colorado for Tyson Jost (playing RW in my lineup but his versatility is key) Signing LW Jaden Schwartz (STL) Signing G Antti Raanta and Chris Driedger Lineup: Schwartz - Monahan - Garland Cozens - Byfield - Kempe Skinner - Mittelstadt - Jost Ruotsalainen - Girgensons - Bjork Dahlin - Andersson Power - Jokiharju Samuelsson - Borgen Raanta - Driedger

I'm not convinced this is accurate. New York has a lot of finesse in their game and is beating one of the ultimate "grinder" teams right now. Vegas, too. Tampa Bay is flying through everybody with speed and an incredible powerplay.
-
I'm very confident the Sabres will take Power if they're picking at one but if they don't I think Hughes, Beniers, Guenther and Eklund are the only guys that might be in play. There's not much that should be changing between now and the draft so they probably already have either a final choice or two/three options max.
-
Nobody capitalizes on other people's mistakes like Vegas (not just the team).
-
They've still looked damn good. I think they're just playing an equally good team and this is what happens sometimes. Games become coin flips and the team that takes advantage of their opportunities wins.
-
If you're hoping to poach from these teams, I took a quick peak at their contracts. Colorado UFAs: Gabriel Landeskog (not going to happen but it still tightens my jeans), Brandon Saad, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, Carl Soderberg, Patrick Nemeth, Philip Grubauer Colorado RFAs: Tyson Jost, Connor Timmins, Cale Makar Vegas UFAs: Tomas Nosek, Mattias Janmark, Alec Martinez (no RFAs of note)

I absolutely love watching Mark Stone play hockey. If Matthew Beniers were being compared to him more I'd be more convinced.

Don’t believe everything you read on the internet. He was a Norris finalist just a couple seasons ago. His play has diminished as the team has and I don’t think that’s a coincidence. Obviously that might lessen the value he has for a team like us because we also suck but he is a damn good defensemen that’s getting a bad look from the charts people.
-
These teams are so good and it makes me excited to see what concoction Seattle comes up with.
-
There might be like five prospects in modern history that could claim this.
-
I don’t think this franchise can afford to take that risk.
-
He was just out for an entire year with an injury and there’s a lot of guys that either need minutes or need to be moved (him included). It’s not like he’s a stalwart must-start player.
-
I’m not sure he will but we’ve got a ton of bottom six players so really any combo in there will work. Eakin is also still under contract. 🤮 It does, doesn’t it? When I slow down and think about it it obviously sucks but it certainly can be entertaining to look at other teams and come up with packages. They’ve sucked the emotion out of being a fan.
-
Edited to correct Cozens to RW. If we do end up dealing both Eichel and Reinhart one of them absolutely has to net a top-six center with some NHL tread so we aren’t forced to throw all three young guys into huge minutes at the pivot.
-
We’ve all hashed and rehashed the mess of prospects that are near equal to each other in what is viewed as a weak draft so some rankings being different than others shouldn’t be shocking. That coupled with COVID putting even more of the evacuation process into a blender and voila.
-
It was two of him, Mittelstadt and Reinhart so it felt like he made the most sense to move off. If we don’t make any trades with Eichel/Reinhart then we essentially have a “logjam” (in quotes because nobody else has proven themselves yet).
-
What’s our current skeleton look like without assuming trades? XXX - Eichel - Olofsson XXX - Reinhart - Cozens Skinner - Mittelstadt - Thompson Asplund/Bjork - Ruotsalainen - Okposo Dahlin - Joker Samuelsson - Risto Bryson - Borgen XXX - XXX (goalies) This seem about right? Don’t put too much thought into the lines I mostly just plugged players under contract that I imagine will be in the lineup if they’re still on the roster on opening night.

Beniers was back on the ice for the pregame skate after his injury. He didn’t play but clearly not a major injury in that case. This is as close as I’d expect and as close as I’ve been saying it is on the board. The feeling on this board is not reflected off of it, though. And you’ll note that those voting for Beniers are the more frequent posters. There’s nothing wrong with that. Beniers appears to be a damn good prospect and could ultimately be the best in the class. Just worth noting.
-
He also falsely answered it. You said since Worlds. Elite Prospects has not done a ranking since May. McKeen since April. Future Considerations since “Spring.” I don’t know when Scouching did their rankings. At this point, there’s a disingenuous approach to the conversation and I’m not longer interested.
-
LOL this is hilarious at this point.

Every player in the draft’s floor is a player that never sniffs success in the NHL. If a player’s true floor was Cirelli they’d be the first pick in any draft because floor suggests the chances are they will be much better. Being much better than Cirelli is a star-level player, guaranteed. Those don’t exist.
-
The charts. The charts say he’s bad.
-
You do realize one is a defenseman and the other is a forward ... right? That’s nonsense.

There’s a reason nobody should listen to Hamilton
