  1. Chris Johnston: Cody Franson's #sabres contract doesn't include any no-trade/no-move protection.
  2. Thank the lord: Schefter says Bills signed Marcel Dareus to a six-year, $108 million extension, per source. Marcel Dareus' deal includes $60 million in guaranteed money, highest guarantee for a non-QB in NFL history. Dareus suspended week 1, too.
  3. I don't think the Rangers are underdogs, despite how bad they were. Their roster is loaded. The Astros are still the underdogs in that division.
  4. The Nats need to fire Williams AND Rizzo. I've said from day one Rizzo was getting too much credit for doing next to nothing. He got an extension last summer despite the team's postseason failures. He drafted Strasburg and Harper (tough decisions there with the best pitching and hitting prospects of all time, huh?). He gave Werth a contract that was reportedly millions more than his next best offer. Werth was AWESOME for the Nats, but he faded fast and is now at-best a guy who will make every out 10 pitches but still an out. He chose to move on from Michael Morse in favor of Denard Span who isn't nearly as strong a hitter but is better in the field and strong on the base paths... But he's always had injury issues and those have gotten worse in Washington. He hates Drew Storen who, at last check, has the best bullpen ERA of any pitcher since he entered the league. He struggled in the postseason against the Cards so the benched him for Rafael Soriano. Soriano was "meh" so they started this year with Storen back as the closer... And all Storen did was have the second most saves in the NL leading up to the deadline with a great ERA. The clubhouse was behind him until Rizzo brought in Jonathan Papelbon who is a great closer but demanded the closer role in Washington. Storen has been decent but not great since. A few really bad outings for him since. His handling of Jordan Zimmermann has been confusing and he probably leaves the team this offseason. One positive decision was to not give Ian Desmond a big contract because he has been brutally inconsistent this year. The Nats need to shake it up.
  5. Never having to think about money for you, your family and your children definitely could go a long way towards creating a better life for yourself going forward. It's just not my business how she wants to deal with healing if what she alleged is true.
  6. Another article today shedding some light on the Pats... http://www.si.com/nfl/2015/09/08/patriots-cheating-suspicions-bill-belichick-tom-brady?xid=si_social
  7. I feel completely comfortable with what I was getting at, but I admit that "the hypocrisy and ignorance of these Christians" or "Christian responders" would be a better way of wording it. I apologize for any offense. Because this situation specifically involves mostly Christian commenters/responders the hypocrisy is specific to them. In fact, I actually took the time last night to view the comment section of WGRZ's most recent post about Kim Davis and their most recent post about the flight attendant and found four people who appeared in both comment sections saying the exact opposite thing. In one the group of four commented saying Davis should uphold her Christian beliefs. In the other comment section three said she should be fired and the fourth referred to her as a "Muzrat," mentioned plane-involved terrorism and said she should be kicked out of the country for what she believes. Maybe this isn't "typical" of Christians as a majority, but the voices are common enough and loud enough for all to hear and see. Maybe there's a culture the church needs to address. Maybe instead of taking in millions and insulting others for feeing sad about losing their loved ones Joel Osteen could preach about true kindness and acceptance.
  8. I don't know if anybody else read that whole article but wow... Some notes about what's inside: -Pats stole play sheets that included the game plan from the early portions of the game for opposing teams -Had different headset frequencies so they could communicate the play the other team would run -Watched and possibly filmed the Rams walkthrough before the Super Bowl -Goodell asked Martz to put out a false statement to calm the public and somebody actually reworded Martz's statement to include things he never said -Most owners supported Goodell in the Brady case -Most owners believe Deflategate punishments were a "make-up" call for how soft Goodell was during the investigation into Spygate -Goodell's contract expires in 2019 and there's motivation not to re-up -Kraft or somebody connected with the Patriots offered Arlen Specter, a U.S. Senator, a lot of money to stop investigating them Also: the Bills re-signed Matt Cassel.
  9. I wasn't painting anybody with a broad brush. "Christian hypocrisy" doesn't define all Christians. It's like saying "that shirt is a good example of a green shirt." I'm not saying it represents ALL shirts out there, but it's a good representation of a green shirt. Another note on Christian hypocrisy: I agree with Neo. It's likely not greater than any other. But this is a nation made up mostly of Christians so it's what we deal with constantly and see everyday. Another reason there's so many who believe Christians, for the most part, are hypocrites is because there are so many different types of Christians at varying levels of on the devout scale. The way they follow their religion and the way they represent their faith in capacities viewable to the everyday man or woman largely dictates how many view them as a group... One day you might log in and see the strict Christians criticizing somebody for dressing in an immodest way but the next you may see an entirely different section of the faith's followers defending an unfaithful Christian husband or wife. When you're exposed to something so different on multiple levels everyday it's bound to appear as though there are inconsistencies in the way the faith is enforced. It's church school run amok.
  10. I'm not giving much for Stamkos because I'm convinced he's going to Toronto if he leaves Tampa at all.
  11. Also, this is the PERFECT example of Christian hypocrisy and ignorance. If you compare the comment section of this story to the comment section of the Kim Davis stories where the same group of people are saying the opposite things.
  12. This changes just about everything in my mind. If it were as simple as refusing to fulfill her job duties on her own then fine, but she was given an accommodation and another showed clear faith-based bias in filing a complaint against her. This CNN story seems to detail a situation where a coworker agreed to help her continue her current employment situation while still devoting herself to her religion, but then the coworker either got tired of doing it or suddenly realized she couldn't stand working with a Muslim/somebody she didn't understand. The original story (Facebook post referencing an article) I read said she was fired for refusing to serve alcohol and that was the end of it. Shame on me for not looking further. I would've been completely fine if the company would have just said "sorry, you can't fulfill the duties we hired you for so we're going to move on" when she originally told them she couldn't serve alcohol.
  13. As if orchestrated by some higher power behind the scenes: a Muslim woman was just fired for refusing to serve alcohol on a plane due to her beliefs... Perfect timing as the "left" was having a field day with Kim Davis (typing that name makes me vomit). How does everybody feel about this? My opinion: if that's why she was fired then it's fine unless she explicitly told them at some point during the hiring process that she could not serve alcohol and they still hired her. If your beliefs prevent you from fulfilling the entire requirements of a job try to find another job or try to make arrangements with your work in order to avoid compromising your beliefs and their productivity.
  14. Shockingly Ohio State started Cardale Jones at QB. Kind of weird to say the National Championship QB starting is shocking but everything to this point said JT Barrett would start... Well played Urban Meyer.
  15. It makes them clear acquaintances. Vanek tweeted about him today.
  16. If the Bills really are making a switch at kicker: PLEASE! FOR THE THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS DONKEY KONG! GET A KICKER THAT CAN WORK ON KICK OFFS.
  17. No need to apologize. I've always just found Karlos Williams to be a pretty relaxed guy at the podium. Haven't really seen anything that would scream going for this strange form of glamour.
  18. As could I. $$$ Glad he retired the lame "money sign."
  19. Now why exactly could you see Williams doing it but not Taylor? Could you see Johnny Manziel or Richie Incognito doing it?
  20. Yes. You're correct. He was shot in the head.
  21. Can't believe it's already been four years since the Lokomotiv tragedy that took the lives of Stefan Liv, Pavol Demitra, Josef Vasicek (Vanek's brother's wife's brother), Jan Marek and Karel Rachunek.
  22. http://www.ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/news/2015/09/7/governor-s-first-deputy-counsel-shot-in-crown-heights-during-pre-j-ouvert-celebrations.html As far as I know Cuomo is spending the day travelling to Puerto Rico.
  23. Governor Cuomo's first deputy was shot in the head at a festival today. He is in critical condition. This will likely make Cuomo's calls for gun control even louder (he already mentioned it in a statement).
  24. I don't think EJ is broken. I don't think there was enough there to break in the first place, but I agree that he is what he is and not broken. Sammy's brother Jaylen Watkins (a corner) joins the Bills.
