Good third period. Rough first two periods but predictably so. This team won't hit its stride for some time, but we've already seen some flashes. O'Reilly showed what I expected he would - good off the puck. And that's why it makes so much sense to have him in between Kane and Ennis. Kane was awesome tonight. Effort all around the ice which was a little surprising. Maybe needs to look for the pass instead of shooting so much but not the end of the world having a guy that wants to score. Eichel - nothing great in the first two periods but he really turned it on in the third. A few good scoring chances. Franson - really worried about him defensively. A few times he looked like he had no clue how to defend. Very slow. Risto - man oh man he makes some dumb plays behind his own net. Somebody needs to get him in the rink for a few hours a day every week and work on that. Lehner - after the first shot he looked good but this injury looks bad. We may need to start thinking about acquiring another goalie instead of just a call up if this is a long-term injury.

I wasn't going to discount them but needed a juicy upset. I expect the Blackhawks to make a run but screw it. I think the Jets will be decent this year but know that Big Buff will be too expensive for them. IR is a seven-day list, but it's from the date of the injury. Normally the team will announce it as retroactive to the date of the injury so if they didn't they may be anticipating that Bogosian will be out more than a week. Once the player is a week separated from their injury they can be removed from IR.
