  1. Bills sign Dan Boom Herron, formerly of the Colts, to play running back. Per the Buffalo Bills.
  2. Trent Richardson (former Alabama back and third overall pick of the Browns) working out for the Bills.
  3. The vote is down to Let Me Clear My Throat and Swords of a Thousand Men
  4. D4rk, that was beautiful. An all-time post. Here's a little added reading on why so many arguments against gun control really are useless: http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/4-pro-gun-arguments-were-sick-of-hearing-20151001 Also, this board LOVES to talk strawmen. I've never seen more strawmen in any argument than the gun control argument (from both sides). The biggest being the "we'll never stop all shootings" one... Nobody is asking for that and it's not even a decent defense. Western New York is not immune to these mass shootings at places many view as safe zones... Olean High was victimized by a student back in the 70s. The entire thing sounds like a broken record: brilliant student and person who was a bit of an outsider saw one incident (getting removed from the rifle team) as the breaking point in his life. He shot and killed three people and injured several others (including somebody I lived a stone's throw away from growing up). Let's do something, mkay?
  5. No, I saw WildCard's post and figured it would make sense to make my own bold predictions! (Just kidding, I'm more out of touch with baseball than I thought) ALDS - Royals over Astros in four & Blue Jays over Rangers in three NLDS - Pirates over Cardinals in five & Dodgers over Mets in four
  6. Are you predicting a Royals team plane crash AND a renaming of the Championship Series? :p
  7. With the Nats out I'm pulling for Toronto since there is a Buffalo connection there. But there's a ton of teams in it this year that would be fun to see win it: Toronto, Kansas City, Houston, Chicago and Pittsburgh. I would be happy with any of those teams. Prediction: Wild card - Astros over Yankees & Pittsburgh over Chicago ALDS - Royals over Astros in five & Blue Jays over Rangers in five NLDS - Pirates over Cardinals in seven & Dodgers over Mets in six ALCS - Blue Jays over Royals in seven NLCS - Pirates over Dodgers in six World Series: Blue Jays over Pirates in seven (Russell Martin gets World Series MVP against his former team) I haven't been invested in baseball since the steroids charade started so these predictions are basically just what I hope happens.
  8. There's a difference between a strawman and hyperbole (or hyperbolic strawman). Just wanted to clarify what my goal was in stating it the way I did.
  9. http://www.tsn.ca/on-eve-of-season-nhl-acknowledges-more-players-using-cocaine-1.372075 Worth the read. There was an article on deadspin a while back with a PR guy or agent where he detailed the problems different sports have. He said the NHL has an alcohol and cocaine problem. Stoll's arrest could be a breaking point.
  10. I would definitely agree that the Dolphins should be worried about both Tannehill's attitude and play. But this has been a two-game rough stretch for him and he's only a few months removed from a stellar season. If his stats are similar by the end of the year and the team finishes with a very poor record it would be time to pick on those who believe in Tannehill. Right now there's more doubt than there was a few months ago, but the WR turned QB isn't dead in the water. His comments are on the same level, in my opinion, as DeMarco Murray's complaining publicly about his coach not giving him the ball.
  11. Sorry. You guys are right. We all know for sure that no legitimate starting QB has ever made a douchy comment in practice. I bet if Cam Newton had ever said something in a practice he would get punched in the face... Good thing that never happened. Kerry Collins and Roger Staubach also definitely never got into fights with teammates over comments they made. Phillip Rivers has never shown to be willing to argue with his own fan base indicating he's probably fiery enough to talk to his own teammates. Tannehill becoming the first QB in history to say something in practice that has drawn some ire is an indictment on him as a QB. He should be banned.
  12. Not saying Tannehill isn't a tool. What he said was dumb and embarrassing (although it is anonymously sourced which is something so many members of this board hate unless it fits what they want to hear). There is zero doubt in my mind comments like this are made constantly in the league, especially during practice. I don't "like" Ryan Tannehill, but I'm not going to kick a guy while he's down just because it's easy. He holds the record for most consecutive passes without an INT in Dolphins history... He fell apart after the Bills broke that streak of his but he was essentially the only member of the team that hadn't fallen apart before that point. On your first point: yeeeeap. So was Jim Kelly. So is Tom Brady. So was Michael Vick, Broadway Joe, Phillip Rivers, Eli Manning, etc etc. On the second: exactly my point from above. I don't doubt that he said it, but "sources" get no benefit of the doubt here unless it fits.
  13. Tannehill is still a good NFL QB. As if other QBs don't say similar things. He's part of a show and has certainly contributed to it in his own ways, but you don't put up stats like he did last year without the ability. And let's not forget how bad that entire team is right now. Suh has done absolutely nothing (less than Tannehill)... Does that mean he's no good? No, it doesn't.
  14. Sam Reinhart quietly had the second most preseason points (five assists). Tied with Ennis at five points just one behind Eichel's lead at six.m Hopefully he's here and in the lineup every night.
  15. On the coaches show - Bylsma had a show in Pittsburgh with ROOT sports that the fans loved. He's a funny guy so they showed it off. On the Sabres broadcast rights - that was STRONGLY denied (which means it's either dead wrong or dead on). But I was told the Pegulas/Sabres are keeping ALL options open in regards to broadcasting games (the all was stressed again when their own regional network possibility came up). Speculating with no mind to what I've heard: if what Chz says is true on them leaving (which would be tough because the Sabres deal goes for two more years meaning they'd have to get out of the MSG deal to move after this season) - wouldn't WBBZ fit that bill? They're local. They're free. If the Pegulas starting putting content on there it would buy them time, give them a partner if they want to purchase a network that already has groundwork in place and keeps them fully self-producing their content.
  16. As you can tell by the picture: pizza hut. A wedding. A funeral. Slashing freeman's tires. Work. Sabres - Leafs preseason game.
  17. DMV employee "Sir, you must have at least seven characters for a legal plate." Liger "Ugh, I know she hates vowels... But just throw an E in there between the H and the Z."
  18. Matthew Fairburn @MatthewFairburn Rex Ryan says he is proud of how his team played. Matthew Fairburn @MatthewFairburn Rex Ryan knows the Bills took too many penalties but he wants a team that will fight "right, wrong or indifferent." Matthew Fairburn @MatthewFairburn Rex Ryan says reporters don't understand the game the way he does. He's pretty animated here in his post game presser. :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:
  19. I'm not sure. That's one of the questions I asked. I'm not even expecting a response. In fact, I expect it to be ignored completely or just die off... But I figured it was worth the effort.
  20. Update: I did email Russ with a link and a request for possible response/requirements. Only 54 signatures so far, but maybe if the team has an actual thought on it (highly doubtful) then it could get more attention. I had originally thought Russ had an email the public could easily ask it but I couldn't find it, so I'll refrain from putting it out there. There is a form on WGR if you google it but I have no idea if that works.
  21. I'm with ya on Matt Cassel, Eleven. But I must say: I love the number 16 on a QB... Jared Goff, come to poppa.
  22. Sending you a DM. No reason to subject the board to this, but I believe there's a discussion to be had here. I would have done this before but I will continue to publicly criticize you when you call out posters publicly in your attempt to moderate ill-mannered but non-offensive language.
  23. Cassel is oldish, mediocre at best and needed to be released for the purpose of a pay cut. I'm somewhat surprised they got anything out of him. It was. My apologies. Mild in manner but pointless nonetheless.
