  1. Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuce, stick to sacking quarterbacks.
  2. There was once high hopes for this kid. Looks like he's not interested in waiting... http://www.sports.ru/tribuna/blogs/stalk8r/896824.html Translation sees him constantly complaining about playing time. Said he thought he should at least be the backup in Buffalo. He makes mention of how a goalie in front of him in Rochester has played poorly and still starts over him. He says he will most likely return to the KHL at the end of the season. And, if the translation is to be believed, says his contract can't end soon enough.
  3. Really impressed by Bailey's ability to find the puck in traffic there. Got multiple shots on where many Sabres would've gotten one on then let it flutter away.
  4. Sabres' lines: Deslauriers-O'Reilly-McGinn, Kane-Reinhart-Gionta, Foligno-Eichel-Moulson, Catenacci-Legwand-Bailey.
  5. He drafted Ivan Chukarov who is the son of two Russian parents, including a Russian professional boxer. He was part of the group that drafted Ruslan Bashkirov in Ottawa. Hard to tell how big of an influence he had on draft decisions before.
  6. How dare thee challenge the sweater-number obsessed Hoss. https://www.google.com/search?q=justin+bailey&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj2g4rjwfDKAhUEHD4KHVmvB9UQ_AUIBygB&biw=1920&bih=1099#tbm=isch&q=justin+bailey+sabres Never wore 13 in action. Maybe this is what you're thinking of?
  7. He has drafted Russians, but I believe it was a very low number. Something like two or three. I'll look it up.
  8.
  9. I really would love this signing. He hasn't been discussed on here enough this year.
  10. https://twitter.com/ByTimGraham/status/697847039925821440 Tim Graham‏@ByTimGraham Tim Graham Retweeted Eric Ongoing. Tox report still out. But charge unlikely. Hospital triggered investigation, not woman. She has no memory. This was Graham's response when asked about the investigation.
  11. He only had 13 at the draft because it was his draft year.
  12. Vogl on Bailey's number: Justin Bailey had 15 during early training camps, was issued 56 by team this year with Eichel in town. Would like 95 "eventually."
  13. Sometimes you walk up to a clearly poor man trying to sell the bits and pieces of what was once his home. He's asking $50 for a ragged old picture frame as he has no family to frame. Most will scoff at the idea but eventually somebody may look at it and say, "this frame isn't worth $50 but I'll take it. I can see my own family sitting within this frame, and I've got $50 to spare today." In this agreement the $50 will have far more value to almost everybody but especially to the man selling the frame. But the man who bought the frame just lost his wife and child and wanted a frame to represent his emotions. Value isn't universal.
  14. Speculation this morning is that the Senators are the leaders for Drouin now.
  15. Maybe I'm off here, too, but don't most illegal immigrants actually come over the Canadian border? Are we going to make Mexico pay for that wall, too?
  16. Ehrhoff clears waivers. Dreger and McKenzie speculating teams will now call LA to see if they'll retain salary to facilitate a deal.
  17. Mhm.
  18. Purely as a prospect I think Matthews is a somewhat significant step ahead of the Laine and Puljujarvi. But I still might make the deal you mentioned if it's down to 2/3. Reinhart doesn't compare to Matthews, again speaking purely about them as prospects. And Reinhart is playing about where his prospect projection and draft slot had him.
  19. Jonah Javad had a piece tonight about goal support for Lehner... Hmmmmmmmm...
  20. Which part? Taking Matthews or his ability to play wing? To both: some have mentioned taking other players ahead of him and some have said they would do so because we need wingers more than centers. I don't think so. My guess is Matthews, actually. I've seen some places list him as C/LW. Would give something like: Matthews-Eichel Kane-O'Reilly ???-Reinhart
  21. You take Matthews if you win the lottery. As does every single scout that was polled by Bob McKenzie. He can play wing if you really want him to or if he fits there better.
  22. I know Myers and Ennis has both mentioned that they kept it because it felt weird to change. Bogosian chose 47 on his own. Foligno filed to change his number to 17 just before the lockout but never ended up getting to make the full switch, for some reason (my guess is the change got lost in the lockout stuff).
  23. I think Arizona trades OEL in a heartbeat if it means Matthews. He's on Eichel's level. He looks like a star and is from Arizona. They haven't had an offensive player like him in ages. Then, if Arizona is smart, they would trade their own first rounder for another NHL defenseman.
  24. Yes. Yes, because once they have their jersey number they have absolutely nothing to work for in the league. I'm mostly annoyed at the inconsistency. Eichel, Grigorenko, Biron, McCabe and several others were able to select their numbers right away. Even Andrew Peters. In fact, Eichel had to basically beg the team not to break the "tradition" for him.
