The American (Lower and Middle Class) Dream. The American (Riches) Nightmare.

Elizabeth Warren nailed my feelings on President Obama's right and duty to appoint the next Supreme Court Justice. "Senator McConnell is right that the American people should have a voice in the selection of the next Supreme Court justice," Warren wrote. "In fact, they did — when President Obama won the 2012 election by five million votes." "Article II Section 2 of the Constitution says the President of the United States nominates justices to the Supreme Court, with the advice and consent of the Senate. I can't find a clause that says '...except when there's a year left in the term of a Democratic President.' Senate Republicans took an oath just like Senate Democrats did. Abandoning the duties they swore to uphold would threaten both the Constitution and our democracy itself. It would also prove that all the Republican talk about loving the Constitution is just that — empty talk." I find the whole thing to be morbidly hilarious. One of the staunchest defenders of the constitution just died and the republicans want him replaced with a defender of the constitution. In order to ensure this they want to go against the very word of the constitution... (Sorry if this has been posted). Also, POTUS has appointed a new member of the SC 19 times in the last 100 years. This isn't a new issue. Just because our election cycle is moronically long doesn't mean the current POTUS is rendered powerless.

Easily agree. I believe each individual working 40 hours a week should make enough to be comfortably above the poverty line of a three-person household.

It was MUCH clearer during the live broadcast. The others in the room with me agreed that it was clear before I told them what he said.

I like them for the vintage touch but otherwise they're ugly. Wear them once for the $$$ and the nostalgia then never again

I disagree. I do not think a black quarterback would've been able to escape this for nearly 20 years.

I'm surprised by the reaction to this story mainly because I thought the whole thing was common knowledge. I have known since his years as a Colt that he had done this and his claims that he was mooning somebody instead of placing his genitals on her face. It shows you how well a powerful and rich white family can hide their skeletons.

McKenzie speculates that Stamkos will end up in Buffalo

The Leafs may be the Knicks of the NHL. Neither team has won a championship in over 40 years yet both are often the center of media attention. Knicks fans were so sure LeBron would sign with them in 2010 and he didn't. Leaf fans are so sure on Stamkos but recent reports don't look good or them. As soon as the Knicks lost out on LeBron they turned their attention to Kevin Durant's free agency. As soon as the Leafs seem like they're not getting Stamkos word trickles out on Tavares. -

This couldn't be further from the truth, but hell, just throw it out there and hope nobody notices. If you haven't noticed I've been railing against the local media for some time around here for all this "hot takes" and "meme-y" . It's all a joke. There's a ton of great reporting throughout the state and country, but boy do the local reporters love themselves. My current role has zilch to do with clicks.

What the Colorado defender just did to Bailey is interference. I agree with whoever said the defender doesn't have to move out of the way when an attacker dumps the puck, but the defender shifted direction to skate in front of him a few strides after the puck was dumped in. CALL IT! 12 assists in his last 15 games. Had a goal 16 games ago. O'Reilly with another assist.

This is a little loose with the details. More important than his bare as was the fact that his genetals were planted directly on her face and on top of her head. This was the second incident between the two that the female reported. The first has been pretty tightly wrapped and not many details are known. There was a settlement between them and an agreement to never speak about either incident to others. Manning broke the agreement in 2000 when he wrote in an autobiography that the trainer had a "vulgar mouth" and said his actions were crude but harmless. Because of this publication the woman was demoted. I'm sure Peyton Manning has grown a lot as a man since then. I do think what he did in the known incident was wrong and the actions that followed by him and his family were nothing short of vile, though.

Toronto re-engaged Babcock the morning of his expected decision and offered him a larger role. Maybe Babcock told them that their offer at the time would leave them out of the running. -
This is hilarious. I'm sure everybody or just several of you or just none of you will find this funny.

I know Friedman reported yesterday that Edmonton brass said they will absolutely not be moving Eberle because of how he's fit with McDavid so well. My guess is that they'll be dealing Nuge this offseason for a dman. I wonder if they talk to Minnesota about Nuge for Brodin +?

Semantics.     What's the purpose of you posting this aside from attempting to put somebody down? Yeeeeeeap. Jack put up similar number with much worse linemates.

Have you not been around these parts? Several posters were bemoaning our bad luck in the lottery because of the numbers McDavid is putting up... Go back to page 103 if you really care enough to question it.
