@FOX29philly Sources say officers suffered fractured skull. Broken ribs. Broken nose. Everyone ejected from restaurant. Video tape.#foc29 This was my very first thought, too. My INITIAL thoughts were: 1. Why is "off-duty" relevant to this story at all? Unless they're trying to insinuate they were targeted because of it. 2. The use of the word assault is confusing as they switch to "physical altercation" mid-way through. The sources are clearly within the force. 3. The mention of his friend being involved doesn't come until halfway through and is hidden below and ad for everybody. But the tweet above makes it sound much worse.

Freeman, it's been a rough few days for your opinion. When even Jack Edwards admits the call was bad then just settle on that being the 100% truth.

LeSean McCoy and a friend allegedly assaulted an hospitalized two off-duty police officers. http://6abc.com/news/sources-off-duty-philly-officers-assaulted-by-lesean-mccoy/1191784/

That halftime show was butthole

I like Washington's throwbacks, but I still think text is boring on sweaters for the most part. I think they need to give the Weagle logo a run as their primary. Something like this (not in love with the numbers, though):

Ovechkin is now one of just three NHL players with at least 30 goals in his first 11 seasons. Anybody care to guess the other two? EDIT: Graphic ruined it. It's Gretzky and Mike Gartner
-
I still think the rule needs to be shot and a power play. If you score on the penalty shot then you don't get a power play.

The original move is nice, but I roll my eyes every time I see him try the between-the-legs shot at the end. It makes zero sense. Defender is right there and he would've had a MUCH better shot at going backhand for the goal.

Lehner's statline through seven appearances: 2.17 GAA and a whopping .939 save percentage. 2-3-1 record. Still early but we can only hope this continues and we've got our guy. Just one of his full games played has seen him finish with a save percentage below .943.

If Owens isn't in it's a joke. It's also a joke that people will point at Owens' attitude when it's pretty widely accepted that Harrison shot somebody. It's not quite widely accepted that he followed up by being the one to shoot and kill his original shooting victim a year later, but it's certainly something many people believe. Never mind, seeing now Owens did not get in. That's brutal...

Sounds like Favre, Marvin Harrison and POSSIBLY Tony Dungy have been elected to the Hall of Fame so far. Remember when Marvin Harrison shot and killed somebody? Good times.

Calling Edmonton talented is a stretch. They've had three young "star" forwards for a few years and have been almost completely bare elsewhere. They've never been talented. They should be better, but they're not talented. Nor is Buffalo. Accumulating more talent is far more important than a few extra points. Preferably veteran talent.
-
Also good. I'm sure this team realizes how absolutely atrocious this team has been for two years and how important a 20-point improvement is. I'm also sure they're all disappointed they're not much better.

Get around to Dexter eventually. You could stop watching after season four if you want but I think it's better than people let on beyond that. Season eight stinks up a storm and the finale sucks, though.

Thomas Vanek and Jason Zucker will be healthy scratches for the #mnwild.

Technically can't be 30th as Columbus doesn't play and will still hold the games played tiebreaker for 30th regardless.

As always, Adam Zyglis of the Buffalo News delivers:

I'm still completely neutral to results. I've seen a ton of improvements and seen the new guys do enough to satisfy me. I expect that to continue.
-
The team is on pace for 74 points. That's a 20-point improvement. They're learning how to win while still locking in a top pick.

Is Paul Kariya a Hall of Famer? He's probably my favorite player in league history (Mighty Ducks, he and Teemu were one of the most dynamic duos in the league when I first became a fan). It's an interesting discussion. If concussions hadn't cut his career short I imagine he would've padded his stats even more (he was close to a deal to return to the Ducks but doctors wouldn't clear him to play so he took a year off then retired). Here's a look at his career stats: http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=2640 Exactly a PPG at 402-587-989 in 989 games played. Essentially a 1,000 point player. Dynamic player who was one of the most exciting both with Selanne and when he left for Nashville.

This is PI's shtick.
