That's not the conversation, to this point. That's a fair conversation to have, but it's an entirely different one. But to start that conversation: the team currently has 58 more points than it did at the beginning of the season. :p I think there are improvements over the course of the season and things they've gotten "worse" at and bad habits they've developed.
  2. This game is important if you're a part of the growing "tank" crowd (I still hold this isn't a tank). Tankenstein: It's Alive, tonight at First Niagara Center.

The beginning of this conversation came when somebody implied this team hasn't improved. If we're talking about improvement how do we do it if we can't use last year? What is the improvement target?

I've said this a billion times and I will again: this team is MUCH better. You can tell by watching the games or looking at the standings. The team is on pace for 20 more points than last season. They need 15 goals in 18 games to surpass last year's goal total and would need to give up 125 goals in that span to catch up in goals against. I know there's so many more ways to show the improvement (or lack thereof), but this team has improved. A lot.
  5. Marvin Harrison shows his... dark side: http://deadsp.in/q95TBBP Calling him a silent killer used to mean something about his football skills...
  6. The logo is pretty stupid but otherwise it's pretty basic. The heathered stripes are a new twist. Nothing special but certainly not as bad as the exaggeration above.

All good points, Claude and Swamp.
  8. I don't think those are that bad until you get to the adidas stripes on the side.
  9. These tattoos pop up in a ton of fanbases. I saw a Detroit one a few years ago.

This is what confused me. Peters would tell me how much of a loser mentality it was to root for losses during last season. Every week I had to deal with the jokes and now this.

Andrew Peters said on tv today that he thinks the most important part of the remainder of the season is for the team to get a top five pick. Said he's not necessarily rooting for losses but he was happy they lost last night.
  13. I know, I was adding to it.
  14. Basically. Just 506 yards this season. Had 921 yards and 7 TDs in 14 games a year ago, though. Over 800 catches and 10,000 yards in his career with 63 touchdowns. Easily the best receiver the Falcons have ever had before Julio (probably not saying a ton since Mathis and Rison are the only other relevant ones). I hope he gets one more shot if he wants one, but it seems like receivers just get released and then fade away these days. Especially ones with public attitude.
  15. So the early previews of the Adidas World Cup sweaters were looking good until the full ones came out today... They're sneaking the stupid ###### three stripe design up the side of all the jerseys... These designs are mostly good if not for that one fatal flaw. https://twitter.com/...142912498147328 https://twitter.com/...142631148318720 Look at how great these are if you ignore the stripes: https://twitter.com/NHL/status/705148457078620160
  16. Roddy can be an idiot on Twitter but I've always liked him as a player. Very underrated for this era. Probably not a fit here, though. Just saying this in a general sense. Atlanta Falcons @AtlantaFalcons The Falcons have released longtime wide receiver Roddy White. READ: atlfal.co.nz/24C69nf pic.twitter.com/FPKH7WQLzZ
  17. Absolutely. But TW could probably add in extra hookers and blow to entice more participation.
  18. The best thing for this contest would be if more people participated. I have no idea why more people don't.

Prediction: we get both development from the young guys and a bad finish in the standings. OPTIMISM!
  20. Soooo, all these post game wraps and no appreciation for that pass by Samson? What a beauty.
  21. This contest is one of the gems of the site. My pick of McCabe was the chosen winner (I thought he was the best and obvious choice, a bright future). After being announced the winner I shot a message to TW. He asked for a list of games I preferred. I picked last night, the game I went to (Washington on January 16th) and a few others for backups. TW was able to send me tickets to the game quickly. Had some trouble on game day because my brother thought he had something come up last second, but he was able to wiggle out of that. I owed my brother as he has done a ton for me, so thanks to TW for allowing me a chance to do something for not only myself but him. The seats were fantastic. Right near center ice with a great view of all the action. Hard to imagine there being a better seat in the house. There was a group of Canadian guys behind me rooting for the Caps. I don't know if they're regulars but they were the only negative part of the seats as they were quite persistent. Despite this the Sabres played maybe their best game of the season. Beating the best team in the league 4-1. Also, it wasn't until this game that I discovered that they serve ice cream at the games now. Overall, this was a great experience. I appreciate T-Web doing it and look forward to the future installations.
  22. It's a real live human. I would feel bad if you would censor his name but I can say Hitler all willy nilly. ;)
  23. Connor McDavid taunting the crowd on both goals has me salty. .
  24. I agree so fcking much. I get so tired of watching other teams play and hearing a bunch of stick sounds and skates cutting into the ice but it's mostly muffled in Buffalo.
