Based on performance so far this year I think the Metro is the worst division in hockey.

Yes. Nylander has more value than ROR.

Trusting you on this since you were way ahead on O’Reilly. Parayko makes some sense.

Sabres store will indeed do it. Bought a brand new Leino for $30 then got it switched at the store. Can’t remember how much the switch is.
-
This is probably right. I could see them calling up Pilut if it’s a situation where they know someone will need to play one or two games, though. Wouldn’t kill Rochester’s groove if they know he’s only here for a very short time.

100%. TLJ is the best Star Wars movie with its best fight scene by 20 miles.

For the record it seems like this might be a one-season marriage for Hitch and the Oilers, so it might need to happen this year.

I’ve sat in every nook and cranny of KeyBank and have no preference.

Okay let’s take a poll who wants us to tank so ticket prices go down? JUST KIDDING. But my lord, the ticket market SKYROCKETED this season. I bought my family eight tickets for the Minnesota game on 2/6 for Christmas and paid $18 each (300 level, couple rows up) about three weeks ago and now I can’t find tickets for tomorrow’s game for under $50 a pop. I was looking for a while before today, too. Any season ticket holders making bank around here? Where do you sell your tickets?

Early in his career he was with Eric Staal the most and produced. Then he spent a lot of time with young Elias Lindholm and his production slowed. Victor Rask and Elias Lindholm were his centers for the biggest chunk of his career-high 37 goal year. Not elite but not terrible. I want to say everyone Sabre is elite and better than anyone else but there are better players out there. That’s terrible.

I think he’d cost less than a first and if he doesn’t it’s not worth it. But as you mentioned he needs to be sheltered which we already have enough of. THAT’S a chemistry disrupted I have no interest in - making a move that appears to prioritize development over winning with this team. I’m not asking for three new forwards and two new defenseman. If this team is in a playoff position around the deadline I would love to see one or two new bodies at most without subtracting from the top. If you can get Dzingel for a pick and prospect then just plug him in and move Thompson down that’s fine. Not going to hurt chemistry.

Better passer which is the easy one. They’re close as far as goal scoring goes (Duchene better at creating his own shot and shot generation in general but I’d still give Skinner the nod as a scorer). Better possession forward but that’s why he’s a center and Skinner is a wing. Neither are elite defenders but Duchene is better at carrying out of his own zone (might still be a product of position). Duchene is less reliant on those around him.
-
They might be without Bergeron and Chara for the three games we play against them four/five weeks from now.
-
Okay. Sure. But Duchene is still better.
-
He’s currently fifth in the league in scoring and is 27. The tail end will be rough but that’s the same thing we’re looking at with Skinner (and Duchene is both better and a center).

None of those posts indicate I want players traded off the roster. I mentioned that Kessel is a name to watch at the deadline as a generality about the league then talked about the possible fit for the Sabres. I was asked who I’d rather have: Skinner or Kessel. I wasn’t advocating a trade of Skinner for Kessel and I’d be pissed if it happened. The Kane stuff was a question I posed to the board. Again, not something I’m advocating for. You can quote the other tweets where I say I don’t want to trade for him (I would if we could get an absolute steal but that’s not happening). This was a setup with no punchline.
-
McKenzie says the Sens and Duchene are progressing towards a deal. Says it’s no guarantee to get done but would come in at 8 years for $9M per.
-
I have zero opinions that say any specific players SHOULD be traded. No interest in trading anybody at the top of the lineup (Eichel, Dahlin, Okposo, Reinhart, Skinner, Sheary, Mittelstadt, Risto, Bogo, McCabe, Hutton, Ullmark). If someone demands someone like Larsson or Girgensons then I don’t care as long as the player coming back is worth it. The types of trades I’m talking about (mostly) are just picks and prospects. That’s how the deadline works.
-
@... I don’t really understand your question. I haven’t advocated for anyone on the roster to be traded. Yuck. Zero interest in spending the second half of the season trying to develop him in the lineup. He’s done absolutely nothing to this point and can’t crack a bad Oilers lineup consistently. This is the opposite of the type of trade this team should look for.
