Just contract this ***** ass franchise https://thesco.re/2Sic8Mo

$3.85M is not an overpayment for a guy who is part of one of the best checking lines in the league. His term is tough. His actual dollars are not. (In reference to Berglund and @nfreeman‘s comment). Ideally he will score more but I think that will comes. I noted it before the trade and I’ll note it here again: Berglund had more goals per game than ROR in the three years prior to the trade.

This is all accurate and it’s still all ridiculous.

I don’t remember where the conversation happened but it’s worth noting the Sharks went with their starter against us instead of Toronto tonight.
-
That was the initial comment. The second comment had no “like.” And you’re arguing that the NFL doesn’t care and that’s correct. And that’s a major problem. The NFL prefers domestic abusers to socially-conscious players. It’s also an indictment of the fans that more people care about Kaep than Foster.
-
The initial quote was not definitive a couple weeks ago. This week it was. This is an odd thing to be questioning considering he said it. People care, just maybe not you.
-
He and his teammates have mentioned it multiple times. I’m pretty sure the NFL responded by saying the tests are random.

I haven’t cried during a Sabres game except when someone bypasses the cuss filter in game day threads.

I’ll go ahead and strongly disagree here. Berglund has been a plus to the bottom six. He’s played 19 of 25 games so “reguarlarly a health scratch” for a guy who has missed the last four games due to injury and missed another earlier in the year due to injury is just flat out made up. He was a healthy scratch once. He MAY not be worth that contract but $3.85M is not a lot in today’s NHL nor will it be in a couple years. I doubt it ever has an impact on us. Sobotka has been legitimately good in all situations and his contract is a breeze. He earned his way to a shift in OT last night and ended up being on for the winner. I’m not saying these guys alone make the trade worth it but my argument that they added value from day one is definitely looking true. He’s on IR. Haven’t really heard many updates recently.

Do shootout goals count?

Sorry I wasn't able to post last night -- had to run home and go right to sleep. Some observations from the 100 level last night: - The only players that had "good" games last night from my point of view were Risto, Hutton and Thompson. Everyone else was mostly solid but had some moments of bad. That was truly a *team* win last night. - Risto doesn't care what anybody thinks, he's going to play his game. And that game doesn't look the same every night. It's different some nights from others and that's fine. He's versatile. Some nights there's a lot left to be desired still, but he's proving many of us wrong. - I think I figured something out with Thompson last night: nobody is waiting for or expecting him to make some of the plays he does. There were a couple moments where he made a smooth play only to have his pass easily picked off or left in no-man's land. I don't think his teammates quite know what he's capable of yet or don't trust him enough to be in position to pick up on those moments. It's a growing pain. He's also huge so nobody expects him to do what he does on the opposing team either which is a big advantage. - Eichel had SEVERAL lazy moments last night. He didn't really seem to have the want that you hope at times but he was still good even so. That's why he is frustrating at times. Several turnovers where he wasn't protecting the puck. He's still great. - Beaulieu legit looked terrible until his goal. That definitely gave him some energy and he stepped up a bit after. - Erik Karlsson looked bad. Something seems off. He was invisible for most of the game then had a couple bad, dumb plays. He also didn't seem to mingle with teammates... at all. Maybe the marriage in SJ won't last long.

The Washington R*dskins, who had no interest in Kaepernick, just claimed Reuben Foster off waivers days after he was arrested once again for domestic violence. Also, the NFL “randomly” selects players from each team to be drug tested. Safety Eric Reid, Kaepernick’s right-hand man, has been drug tested six times since re-entering the league with the Panthers in late September.

PSE Hires Company to Study Future of New Era Field and Key Bank Center

In the press scrum about it about an hour ago the only real specific mention of KBC was the need for better audio throughout the stadium. Specifics weren’t given. Did mention many more upgrades are needed. -

I think KeyBank’s need for major renovations is bigger than most people think. The team has been so bad for so long I think people just kind of ignore it. The recent renovations were a decent facelift but it’s as bland as imaginable.
