  1. There are times teams look simply overwhelmed against them...that's scary with them being so young. 2 pretty good guys to be sandwiched between.
  2. I am expecting the pace Quinn/JJP scoring to pick up...especially Quinn...I think he could be a Vanek level sniper.
  3. But...again. This line was playing extremely well and generating chances pretty much all season long. Many nights even without scoring early in the year, they were the Sabres best line. This isn't some streak that just happened out of nowhere. They are the teams best Corsi line, they drive play in the offensive zone, and they get lots of chances. The difference is they have been finishing them over the last two weeks, which is what you would expect as the young guys continue to develop during the year. So calling it a streak is a little disingenuous, as if their play doesn't warrant what has happened. In all honestly, not only does it warrant it, they should have more points than they do now if they were finishing chances early in the year.
  4. That doesn't mean they are bare, just need some development time.
  5. I am expecting the points pace for JJP and Quinn to pick up exponentially as the season goes on. Many nights, that is our best line, which is scary when we have Tuch-Thompson-Skinner as well. Even before they were getting on the scoresheet consistently, the QPC Home Shopping Network Line was getting glorious scoring chances most nights, just not burying them. That has started to change. Lookout.
  6. Not really...they have a lot of good players in Rochester still, in juniors(Savoie) and in college(Portillo/Levi) especially in terms of forwards that need a year or two to develop. Kind of hard to have your cupboards bare when many sources rank the Sabres prospect pool as #1 overall in the NHL. Does that mean other teams don't even have any cupboards?
  7. Even then, this was the best Corsi line on the team...they were getting a LOT of chances, they just weren't finishing them.
  8. Partially, but moreso due to lots of injuries and lack of depth, which Granato and KA admit is an issue with a young team like this.
  9. Dion Dawkins hanging out with the Sabres...I think that's Singletary as well...
  10. no the McDavid/Draisaitl teams before they made the playoffs
  11. agree...but the talent at times seems to overwhelm other teams and that is fun to watch and really exciting for what the future holds.
  12. 3rd in the NHL in GPG at 3.8...this team can score with anyone...sad part is they can also let in 5 to just about anyone too. Sabres are only 1 of 3 teams in the NHL to feature 5 players with 20+ points right now. The other 2 are Tampa Bay and Vancouver. Sabres have the most points by rookies in the NHL... It's exciting times for sure...they need better goaltending, but until then we are going to see a lot of 6-5,6-4, 5-4, 7-6 type of losses...reminding me a lot of the Oiler team from a few years ago that was similar...you knew they were going to score, but you also knew you would likely score more.
  13. That entire line is special... within 1-2 years, I think i could be the best line in the NHL. Limitless potential.
  14. Talk about a rapid ascension for Cozens...he has always been a nice two way forward, but his offensive game has hit another level with Quinn and JJP. Within a year or two, this could very well be the best line in the NHL...unlimited potential. With his 3 A's yesterday, he now has 9 G and 15 A in 25 games...nearly a point per game, and likely soon to be more than that pace...only needs 14 points to match his totals from all of last season. Sabres now have 5 players on a 80+ points pace...
  15. Looking like the Harlem Globetrotters out there tonight
  16. Oh for sure...this team is super fun to watch and oozing with skill from an offensive standpoint. Just need to be a LOT better in goal and a little better situationally on D. They have really cut down on the constant 2 on 1 and breakaways given up lately so that is a step in the right direction. Need to be a little better recognizing high slot players tho. That being said, they need better from the goaltending...too often they are straight up getting beat with clear views of the puck. It's really unacceptable for the NHL for it to be that frequent.
  17. Remind me of the Oilers a few years ago when they would score 4 or 5 every game but allow 5-7 to the opponent and lose a lot of them.
  18. Problem is outside Anderson, our goaltending hasn't even been replacement level. They are capable of letting in 5 to pretty much anyone no matter how bad the team is.
  19. He also has around a .900 NHL save percentage the last few years here and around a 3.35 GAA. Not much better than UPL or Comrie.
  20. Definitely not fragile. This team has some spunk and toughness to them. Need to get better goaltending.
  21. They lead 4-1. At best it was a push.
  22. Frustrating game. 2nd time they outplayed a team and lost this week.
  23. And a 5 on 3 where they scored twice Sabres have been the better team tonight. Need to get at least one more tho.
  24. Gonna lose this game and they've been the better team for 85% of it. SMFH.
