Remind me of the Oilers a few years ago when they would score 4 or 5 every game but allow 5-7 to the opponent and lose a lot of them.

Problem is outside Anderson, our goaltending hasn't even been replacement level. They are capable of letting in 5 to pretty much anyone no matter how bad the team is.

He also has around a .900 NHL save percentage the last few years here and around a 3.35 GAA. Not much better than UPL or Comrie.

Definitely not fragile. This team has some spunk and toughness to them. Need to get better goaltending.

They lead 4-1. At best it was a push.

Frustrating game. 2nd time they outplayed a team and lost this week.

And a 5 on 3 where they scored twice Sabres have been the better team tonight. Need to get at least one more tho.

Gonna lose this game and they've been the better team for 85% of it. SMFH.

Also very frustrating despite them being leaps and bounds better in advanced metrics in virtually every place(other than goaltending), they are still on pretty much the same points pace as last year.

2nd in defenseman points to Karlsson.

Analytics pointed to that being a potentially great signing, but he just hasn't performed the same as last year under similar conditions...perhaps the added stress of being the defacto #1 goalie has gotten to him...something he didn't have any pressure with being the backup in Winnipeg.

Moneypuck analytics rank the Sabres as 10th in their power rankings. Look at Seattle at #3! Guess the Sabres losing to them wasn't as bad as it looked early in the year...they have gone on an 8-1-1 tear and have 31 points, only 4 behind Vegas.

Not a bad comparison...both were great CF% players and around the same values.

Likely won't see that until we get better goaltending. Only so much you can do when your goalies outside of your 41 year old are not even playing at a replacement level.

Cozens is a +4 on the season(tied for 4th best on the team). Mittelstasdt is a -9(2nd worst). Seems weird you are pointing out Cozens as being a defensive liability while you hold Mittelstadt up as a good player in his own end.

Exactly...so if we get 86 points this year and miss the playoffs versus 92 points and miss the playoffs but then our potential goes from 110 points to 98 points the following year from it, I am not interested. IMO, this team is still a year away.

Might have some votes stolen by his own teammate in a few years...could you imagine Dahlin and Power being 1/4 in Norris voting??

Not if that team isn't making the playoffs and at the expense of overall talent level for future years.

Cozens is on a pretty nice 28G 36A 64P pace himself this year... The young kids are really taking some big steps this year... Need goaltending to follow ASAP.

Quinn is also the best regular Corsi player on the team.

I'd rather have the team oozing with talent that makes a Jersey like jump from one year to the next.

Still just a rookie, look at how long it took for Dahlin to grow into who he is now...I think Power is much farther ahead in his development tho.

Best Corsi player on the team already as a rookie...sky is the limit for this kid.
