Lyubushkin? Remember when we were so worried when tanking that our goaltending was too good and it would ruin our draft position because they would win games sometimes even as we were being outplayed and outshot badly? How times have changed... Man, could we use that now.

Yeah, the Sabres can score with anyone, and they actually have a +4 goal differential which is pretty impressive for a team with a losing record. Quite a few teams with winning records and negative differentials.

Goals from far out where they have a clear view of the shot and are simply beaten are way too common. Once in a while...OK, it happens. Every game? Sometimes a few times a game? Inexcusable.

I mean I think it's hard to know...there are probably at least 5 or 6 candidates. Tuch, Quinn, JJP, Skinner, Thompson, Hino... maybe Cozens and Bryson in that mix too.

Oh...yeah that is definitely the Mountain West then...

Montana is considered the far end of the Upper Midwest I would say...at least maybe the eastern half is.

That whole line can fly...the play where Cousins stickhandles his way out of the zone and then turns on the afterburners and the Dman on the Sharks almost panics as he turns because Cousins blew by him so fast was pretty awesome to watch...he is skating as hard as he can to get back and Cousins is just coasting...

Power is going to be a freaking stud back there within a few years.

Granato should be put in straightjacket if he makes any changes to the top 2 lines without there being an injury reason.

There are times teams look simply overwhelmed against them...that's scary with them being so young. 2 pretty good guys to be sandwiched between.

I am expecting the pace Quinn/JJP scoring to pick up...especially Quinn...I think he could be a Vanek level sniper.

But...again. This line was playing extremely well and generating chances pretty much all season long. Many nights even without scoring early in the year, they were the Sabres best line. This isn't some streak that just happened out of nowhere. They are the teams best Corsi line, they drive play in the offensive zone, and they get lots of chances. The difference is they have been finishing them over the last two weeks, which is what you would expect as the young guys continue to develop during the year. So calling it a streak is a little disingenuous, as if their play doesn't warrant what has happened. In all honestly, not only does it warrant it, they should have more points than they do now if they were finishing chances early in the year.

That doesn't mean they are bare, just need some development time.

I am expecting the points pace for JJP and Quinn to pick up exponentially as the season goes on. Many nights, that is our best line, which is scary when we have Tuch-Thompson-Skinner as well. Even before they were getting on the scoresheet consistently, the QPC Home Shopping Network Line was getting glorious scoring chances most nights, just not burying them. That has started to change. Lookout.

Not really...they have a lot of good players in Rochester still, in juniors(Savoie) and in college(Portillo/Levi) especially in terms of forwards that need a year or two to develop. Kind of hard to have your cupboards bare when many sources rank the Sabres prospect pool as #1 overall in the NHL. Does that mean other teams don't even have any cupboards?

Partially, but moreso due to lots of injuries and lack of depth, which Granato and KA admit is an issue with a young team like this.

agree...but the talent at times seems to overwhelm other teams and that is fun to watch and really exciting for what the future holds.

3rd in the NHL in GPG at 3.8...this team can score with anyone...sad part is they can also let in 5 to just about anyone too. Sabres are only 1 of 3 teams in the NHL to feature 5 players with 20+ points right now. The other 2 are Tampa Bay and Vancouver. Sabres have the most points by rookies in the NHL... It's exciting times for sure...they need better goaltending, but until then we are going to see a lot of 6-5,6-4, 5-4, 7-6 type of losses...reminding me a lot of the Oiler team from a few years ago that was similar...you knew they were going to score, but you also knew you would likely score more.

That entire line is special... within 1-2 years, I think i could be the best line in the NHL. Limitless potential.
