Dahlin is having a really nice game defensively

One crossbar, one post and a disallowed goal. I don’t think we’re playing great but it isn’t as bad as people are making t sound

Dahlin definitely looking like a rookie this game. But he’ll recover

Good period. Felt like we controlled the flow most of it. Some nice quick puck recoveries

I thought he was our best D... at 18 years old Defence never look as flashy as forwards, so I don't think he will wow as often

I’ve been really impressed with Dahlin. First time I’ve seen him play and he has made some really nice decisions. a couple of rookie errors too, but he will learn

This is Eichels first game as captain and he has been the most invisible player on the ice

Is it me, or does it always feel like the Sabres are on a line change in the offensive zone? we seem to never have the bodies there to control possession. Just two guys battling and no one else in shot

Very familiar period. We get into their zone - knock it around the perimeter until we either get knocked off the puck or we take a point shot that goes wide and they clear it

Ullmark, as Sabres fans might learn, has an upbeat personality and always seems to be smiling. He likes to wear colorful masks with characters painted on. He recently ditched his Bowser Nintendo mask for a blue and gold Sabres one with the Minions from the movie “Despicable Me.” “A lot of my friends and family, they just love the Minions,” Ullmark said. “Whenever you talk to them, everybody loves (them). We thought it would be great to have on the mask.”

Not sure if WildCard is joking, but sod off is not a racial term here. It just means piss off. No one would take anymore offence to it than if you said piss off

Talking of $ over winning. This is our 60 point centre's first season as as one of the top 5 most highly paid players. Let's hope he can finish within the top 50 this time!

I really don't like that we are now penciling in a guy with 6 NHL games to be our 2C and a stud for us. It might be true and everything works out and he becomes the first Sabre in a long time to put up 70 points, and when Eichel is injured for 20+ games again he steps up to the 1C... But it feels like nothing has changed in 5 years. We are rushing our prospects into positions to fail in. Vanek played on the third line his rookie season and it worked very very well
