  1. I can still judge him for his lineup decisions and player usage.
  2. Young in age isn't the same thing as young in career. The leaders you listed aren't young, they're in their primes. You hit the problem in your last thought. The problem isn't that our team is young, it's that we still have a dearth of talent.
  3. I'm also willing to give him another year...but I want to explore other options as well. I definitely don't think Housley should be on totally solid footing. I just keep thinking about the Islanders. They lose John freaking Tavares and they're higher in the standings.
  4. I understand the spirit of your post, but this team really isn't that young. Mittelstadt and Dahlin are the only two players who are both young and in critical positions.
  5. I was referring specifically to his QB evaluations. Every QB he's brought in other than Manning has been horrible. And next year he'll be paying top-10 money for bottom-5 play.
  6. John Elway continues to prove that just because you were great at something doesn't mean you're great at evaluating others doing it.
  7. That's entirely my point. The problem was always the goaltending.
  8. He's tied with Crosby and a few others for 15th in the league in assists. And that was before he got another 2 primary assists tonight. I think he's tied for 11th after tonight. The only centers with more assists than him are McDavid and MacKinnon.

  10. Still unsupported by any evidence. Some nights he doesn't, most he does.
  11. All I know is I want to link to the original article every time somebody blames our best players for the team not being good. I mean, a guy who hasn't scored a goal on 40 games is 4th among forwards in ice time!
  12. Weird. Haven't heard much recently from the "ROR is poison" brigade. Almost like it was a bad take in the first place.
  13. Trade Eichel! Strip him of the C! He can't play with teammates! We'll never win with him! He's a 2C! Odd how none of that appears after a huge win. Totally odd.
  14. That's definitely a playoff top-6. Mittelstadt has been clearly overmatched, but skating him with the Thompsons and Okposos of the world hasn't done him any favors. I'd also like to add a center regardless, but I'm not complaining much if Mitts is flanked by those two wings.
  15. If Columbus could get Huberdeau for Panarin, that would be a coup. I can't imagine they'd get a better asset from another team.
  16. Yup, and I think it's the biggest reason we're still bad. Every upper echelon team has several high end players from unexpected places. We barely even have depth pieces from our drafts.
  17. So say he didn't play well. The idea that he doesn't know how to play with teammates is objectively false, as Skinner is having a career year stapled to his hip, he can turn the corpse of Pominville into an occasionally useful player, and for years players of varying ability all perform better when skating with him. But yea, he can't play with others.
  18. Pilut with the save of the game. Remember this next time he's benched for a turnover.
  19. Bogo is under contract through next season. Unless you're suggesting a buyout? On the other hand, there shouldn't be a reflexive rejection of bringing a player in just because he was here before.
  20. Which is why it was dumb to make it. We're due for a freaking outlier, dammit.
  21. My partner just died her hair red. Should I be concerned her soul is gone, or does that only apply to natural red heads?
