Is it too soon to snark about the rule enforcement on Reinhart doing wonders to build team culture? Worked like a charm! Relax everyone, I don't actually think the benching caused this. This is a run of the mill game for a team that is mentally golfing versus one with a ton to play for.

I dunno, are any of the NHL's asks things they have asked for (and gotten) before? Barring that, it just seems to me the NHL decided not to go and came up with a bunch of stuff they knew they wouldn't get for the sole purpose of using it as justification for a decision they had already made.

Harrington with a great point: since it's in a country where hockey isn't big, nobody in America is going to pay attention to the Olympics. Nope, definitely not gonna get any American coverage. I mean Jesus H. Christ. For a league desperate to attract non-hockey fans, the Olympics are a perfect way to market its players to those who aren't NHL watchers already.

I care about precisely two things the rest of the season: beating the Leafs and Jack finishing at a point per game.

I don't have numbers, but it seems to me that as Jack has become more dominant (not today, of course...), Sam has looked like more of a passenger on that line. Not asserting himself, too deferential, not enough time with the puck to create.

Seriously. Aside from Jack becoming a point per game player, and McCabe looking like a legit top-4 Dman...is there any positive from this season? Maybe. But with some of the goals he let in, is he really in a spot to have any kind of altercation?

I honestly don't think there's anyone down there we ever expected to be NHL contributors.

This might be overly harsh, but I generally cease considering a player to be a prospect once they're sent to the ECHL ;) (Also, I can't answer your question)

For whatever it's worth, Zemgus underlying numbers basically haven't changed his entire career, including the season he was getting hyped. How did he end up with 30 points in 62 games, you ask? A shooting percentage outlier and top PP minutes. If you liked Zemgus that season, you should still like him.
