  1. I'm just saying, given the year we just endured, and the breakout success the Leafs are having, it's pretty understandable that there's a sizable amount of negative energy.
  2. We just smashed our car on the same day the jerk at work got his Mercedes delivered. That's basically what this is, only it doesn't end in a few days.
  3. I'm just gonna say it: I think the Leafs have potential to be the NHL's Patriots. I need Dudacek to show up and tell me again how they're going to face adversity.
  4. Awesome indeed! The best news is being a Buffalo sports fan has prepared you for semi-regular soul crushing Bowl game losses :p
  5. Checked Google Maps....there is a route completely avoiding the 90 which adds 30 minutes to travel time. IMPOSSIBLE TO PASS I SAY!
  6. On the other hand, he probably also wants to prioritize going somewhere he has opportunity to shine. If he signs here, barring other moves at LHD, he's got a beautiful shot at a top-4 spot. No, but at least in Murray's mind, I'd imagine he's one of the two he has to add with top-4 potential. Antipin might count as my "under the radar with upside" signing I think Murray has to make. Still need an established addition on the right side though.
  7. As always, this is an actual email from an actual student: "I went home this weekend to visit my family and decided to come back to Geneseo early this morning. Unfortunately there was a major accident on the I90 thruway, and there is no way for me to reach the Geneseo campus. I just wanted to inform you and apologize for my absence as I won't be back until tomorrow." This was emailed to me over 7 hours before class begins. If this is the best you can come up with, why even bother?
  8. I totally disagree. Our forwards are good, with help on the way. Look at some of the playoff teams...our forwards belong. Get two top-4 Dmen (this is the hard part) and a coach that can maximize the roster, and let's roll. I'm not expecting them to rattle off 110 points, but with the right moves this team is a playoff team. The biggest long term thing to me is probably the management. Hunter, Dubas...just a wicked smart, young, progressive group. It's reflected in their shrewd asset management. Let's hope some other team poaches them
  9. The Rags are not good. I'm still trying to figure out how they got to their record. This game is exhibit A in my argument that "game flow > scoring" for entertainment.
  10. Though I'm reasonably confident a representative sample of Sabres fans would not see things as we here on Sabrespace do, I'm hesitant to try to predict in which direction the discrepancy would manifest. On the one hand, I'm pretty sure "Joe fan" wouldn't be able to break down the coaching like we do here, but on the other hand, I also feel that "Joe fan" is more prone to knee-jerk "fire everybody" opinions.
  11. You're welcome, Minnesota.
  12. Jake Allen may never allow a goal again. It's really getting absurd.
  13. By this definition, it is over. We weren't the Avs or the Coyotes. We were a normal bad team.
  14. So the fans want a coaching change, and in order to do something for the fans, the organization is going to serve up a heaping helping of false hope, and pull the rug out at a later date? That strikes me as quite a bit worse for the fans than simply making a decision they'll be mad about.
  15. Not true. I had plenty of fun absurdly wishing injury on Matthews and Marner. It's not my fault Millbank cried like a baby who had his binky taken away.
  16. Sure, as soon as people stop feeling sorry that we hurt poor Millbank's feelings for not giving him a big blue and white hug.
  17. When you kick the dog, you can't really complain when it bites you.
  18. The only reason it's an issue is he got all bent out of shape when told to sod off. He can have all the Leafs success he wants, but if he brings the gloating to a Sabres board, he doesn't get to cry foul when he's not embraced. Unless, of course, this whole thing is exactly what he was gunning for. In which case, troll well done.
  19. Because our mod told us to lay off the Leafs troll? He showed up to troll, and the rest of us are out of line? F that.
  20. And if they do, I certainly wouldn't give them a shoulder to cry on if they got for bragging over there. It's like going to the opposition's arena and being surprised the home fans heckle you.
  21. Cheering for a Laviolette team? Gross. Although I shouldn't expect anything else from the resident Pat Kane groupie :nana:
  22. Milbank shows up here for precisely one reason: to gloat whenever the Leafs are involved in something good. He's not a regular poster. He doesn't discuss the Sabres as even a quasi-fan. He posts for the express purpose of antagonizing. The definition of trolling. I don't care how he interacts on TBD, or if a bunch of the old timers around here like him. He's a straight up troll, and be deserves the reaction he got.
  23. Understandable. After all, it's hard to understand how people think something they actually don't. Rebuild being over means we're a Cup contender. Most around here expected bubble team. Those two things are quite different.
  24. All he has to do to help is relegate Gorges to the press box.
  25. 1st bold: I think permission is the wrong word, as I expect Pegula will follow what Murray wants to do. But I do think Murray has to meet with him to discuss the path forward, and lay out why moving on from Bylsma is necessary. I don't think needing to explain your decision to your boss is especially uncommon when that decision is $9 million to fire somebody. 2nd bold: I think you are. In fact, I'm having trouble remembering anything you hold Bylsma responsible for. You blame the roster, Murray, and entitled kids. I forgive you for your lack of faith, as I'd imagine jumping on the Blackhawks bandwagon right as it's derailing has to be pretty traumatic :p
