  1. This sums up how I feel nicely. I think Sutter is a good coach, and I think what he does can still work...but we don't have even close to the pieces necessary to do what he does. And yes, I'm greedy, I want to have a team that is both good AND fun.
  2. This post is basically erotic fanfiction for Sabres fans...except it's real. I stand fully behind what I said in the other thread: Eichel is one of the premier offensive forces in the game. And he's going to get better. Think about that.
  3. Stop trying to improve our understanding and evaluation of the game? I sure hope not, elsewise we'd end up like you and your ilk.
  4. The post was in response to somebody saying he's a support player on a third line. Do you know any elite offensive players who are merely support players on a third line? I sure don't. Establishing he's an elite offensive player obliterates the entire point. And here I thought you eye test people had sexual fantasies about subjective terms ;) :p
  5. Congratulations on roasting any and all credibility you may have had at one time.
  6. Derek Jedamskiā€ @D_Jedamski Apr 4More #facts Edit: oh and hey let's toss McDavid into it: https://public.tableau.com/profile/ryan.stimson#!/vizhome/shared/HZF3GWHMB Superstar. Premier offensive force. I'm not backing down. And things like "culture change" and things like "I'm not the coach"....both of which Eichel has said.
  7. It's going to be a looooooooong summer :wallbash:
  8. It's like you and some others have never listened to athletes talk before. These are the kinds of things they say, even when they want their coach fired.
  9. Finishing 11th in the league in points per game, when he probably wasn't 100% until February? Having one of the best 20-year old seasons in NHL history? Kid's a superstar and one of the premier offensive forces in the league. I'm tired of people selling him short because he's young, or not McDavid, or maybe because psychologically we're not used to having nice things.
  10. I dunno, Bogo strikes me as precisely the type of guy Eichel was talking about with his "Some guys who say they want to win don't actually want to do the work to do what it takes" spiel. Of course, I believe you're one of those whose opinion on Bogo's level of play is completely detached from reality, soooooooo :p
  11. This is, without question, the best thing I'm going to see this week. Yes, I'm confident saying that on a Monday.
  12. That's tremendous. Not to be greedy, but a confused-looking Murray with his arm around confused-looking Bylsma would perfect it.
  13. Babcock has Corsi on the whiteboard. But surely, he doesn't watch the games, and only makes decisions based on statistics. Right? That's what everyone keeps telling me stats people do.
  14. I'm not saying you're wrong, but to me, this is fundamentally insane. "We lost because our coach has lost the room, not because he's bad, therefore I'm going to let the coach have the room again." Potential "inmates running the asylum" snark aside, a huge part of coaching is psychology and getting buy-in from the players. Failing at that is literally failing at being a good coach.
  15. Something about great minds ;) In all honesty, what else do you expect them to say? Especially if they think Bylsma is coming back, it's not like they're going to start talking about the coaching. Players always say it's the effort or the bounces.
  16. Well, Eichel was our best even strength scorer at 2.35 GF/60 while on the ice. He was 188th in the NHL among forwards with over 700 minutes of even strength ice time. Prestigious names directly around him: Dale Wise, Lauri Korpikoski, Christian Dvorak, Brendan Gallagher, Jay Beagle, Jori Lehtera, Mike Fisher, Andrew Shaw, Nick Foligno, Elias Lindolm, Cal Clutterbuck. Methinks there's something wrong with the way we play.
  17. Until he's fired (assuming he's not fired before next season). How much ya love your Hawks? ;)
  18. Avatar bet on the Hawks winning it all? Loser gets saddled with a Bylsma avatar?
  19. This is where you and I are totally different. I'm all about the ride.
  20. No, you're not. You might make it, but that's cuz the West is kinda poop.
  21. This has the ring of truth to it. For whatever it's worth, I trust Murray a lot more to make the right pick there than to acquire NHL defensemen.
  22. We do not need more speed on the back end for Bylsma. We need smarter defensemen who are better passers. The speed is nearly irrelevant for him. And to Ben Lovejoy!
  23. Bylsma said Rodrigues and Carrier surprised. Good thing he scratched Carrier a game ago and was regularly giving him 10 minutes per game. This is quintessential Bylsma: a large share of the time, his actions do not match his words.
  24. *hangs head in shame*
