Meh, no reason to throw a temper tantrum. It is what it is. Though you should be pretty happy, you're about to have a whole bunch of new members on your Murray sucks bandwagon :p
-
Even if they do, who cares? Bylsma has already proven he can acknowledge his usage of Risto and ROR is too heavy, that he needs to ease the minutes...and then proceeded to actually give them more minutes than he did the previous year. And if he's still the coach, Murray's fine with it.
-
"Dan's my coach, it's not his fault I gave him a bad blue line. Oh, and we sucked in shootouts because of the Tyler Ennis injury, that's it!" I fully expect a defensive and combative Tim Murray.
-
You follow him on Twitter, right? I'm honestly not sure I've seen him offer up a single criticism of Bylsma. It's the overpriced vets, the entitled kids, and the bad blue line.
-
Even if we disagree on Mike's qualities as a reporter, he's staunchly in Bylsma's corner. He may ask Murray some tough roster questions, but if you're looking for Bylsma-related grilling, it's not gonna come from Harrington.
-
I'm sure they're going to waste at least one question each about why Terry isn't there.
-
2 I believe. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. But they're not going to. At least Harrington has made it clear he didn't think Bylsma should be fired.

How dare you defile the good name of clan Urdnot by equating Wrex with Rex.

Lombardi legitimately did a hell of a job assembling those Cup teams, with timely trades that worked to put them over the top (Richards, Carter, Gaborik). But whatever mojo he had, it's been like 3 years since he's shown it. The Brown and Gaborik contracts, the Voynov fiasco, the Team USA World Cup disaster, using valuable assets to add a backup goaltender at this year's deadline and thinking the corpse of Jerome Iginla would solve their scoring woes. There's been enough bad over the past few years to make me question whether he was more lucky than good in the first place.
-
He's got a great name, that's for sure.

SA-CF% is in baby! For the games in each series, I just went 6 in every series. I really don't believe Boston is good enough to emerge, especially with the Krug injury, but it is what it is.

Is there any way to create a second bracket? Really want to do SACF% again.

I have no problem saying Jack mailed it in. He was clearly out of it the last few games. What makes me roll my eyes are the takes that extrapolate that onto his character and that he's not a winner...and my personal favorite, that he hadn't earned the right to quit on his coach. What the F ever, man. Bylsma sucks. He knows Bylsma sucks. He's human.

GM Tim Murray - Time for a serious conversation

GM Tim Murray - Time for a serious conversation

Absolutely. If we open the year with Bylsma as coach (I have a sliver of hope he'll be canned and they're just waiting for press conference day to announce), I no longer believe Murray should get to choose another coach. -
I think this is a huge part of it, not just in the literal sense, but in the "it's easier to trade his (the predecessor's) guys than my guys" aspect of how most GMs operate.
-
Doubt it did at all. Not a single interview he did throughout the season made me think he thought the problems were coach-related. Some of it even struck me as downright bunker mentality. I was hoping that's just what a GM says during a bad year (insert joke about a coach having "full confidence of management" as a precursor to being fired here), but it's looking more like it was sincere analysis on Murray's part.
-
Evaluator of pre-NHL talent, sure. But he was totally unproven as a pro personnel evaluator. But even then, there's a difference between evaluating talent in a vacuum, and evaluating it as a fit in a system.
-
Are you mentally prepared for a half trillion lame excuses that Murray is going to spew tomorrow?
-
It's looking increasingly likely that my fears of Murray and Bylsma being on the same page have been well founded. What gross incompetence. Wonder how many more players Murray is going to bring in that don't fit what Bylsma wants to do. Fire everybody.
-
In a draft like this, without any (obvious) true studs, and in the range we're likely to fall in...I think it's exactly the right situation to take on some extra uncertainty of floor in favor of ceiling. All aboard the Maker train!
-
The only bright side about keeping Bylsma, if it indeed happens, is it's a pretty clear indication that Russ "ticket seller" Brandon isn't involved in hockey decisions.
-
Other than the airline itself? Probably.
