  1. Disagree. The absolute last thing Jon needs is to be dealing with infighting among the bannermen. It's an all hands on deck situation.
  2. I was close between Backstrom, Scheifele, Subban, Seguin, Doughty. That was my tier for this range.
  3. I'm downright offended by your helpfulness to WildCard :p
  4. No. Now go ahead and make a bad pick so I can ridicule you appropriately :nana:
  5. Correct. Though she also learned from Littlefinger, who is the best in the business at it. I thought Jon made the right decision insofar as, rightly or wrongly, he's not playing the titular Game of Thrones--he made the decision in light of its impact on the war with the white walkers.
  6. He's the best of my lifetime, so far as my memory goes. So figure since the early 90s.
  7. Gonna have to go with Washington's best player here: Nicklas Backstrom.
  8. The sweet sound of a Yankee fan's misery. Give me more!
  9. I don't even think good/bad team is all that important here. For me, the key is William Nylander spent two years playing against men in the SHL before going to the AHL. Alex had 1 year in junior. It's certainly possible (maybe even likely) that William is the better hockey player, but their development paths have essentially nothing in common, so I'm hesitant to hold their first AHL seasons to too strict of a comparison.
  10. To increase center depth, of course ;)
  11. I don't even think he calls the games well, to be honest. He's too often falling behind the play and flubbing the names. *ducks*
  12. It's one thing to just not think the roster can support 3 balanced lines right now (I disagree, but it's a perfectly reasonable position), but the rigid top-6/bottom-6 formulation of team building drives me completely insane. Rejecting something out of hand because "X belongs in the top-6, not the 3rd line" kills me.
  13. Wouldn't go that far. I think an O'Reilly-Staal combo could win a Cup. Just needs a better supporting cast.
  14. Then we're in for an uphill slog whether he's getting 8, 9, or 10.
  15. *launched self through nearest window*
  16. Just worked 7 days in a row. Tomorrow off. New beer from something called a Lord Hobo.
  17. Honestly, McDavid's contract may be the largest, but I think that mentality had been shifting for awhile. See: the case of the vanishing bridge contract.
  18. Fascinating. People keep telling me that Cups measure greatness :nana:
  19. I think the only one who will genuinely be disappointed is Dudacek. Hell, his posts on the matter have foreshadowed a breakdown like he had when Murray was fired :p
  20. Me too. Holding out for $9M.
  21. Yes, I'm playing. How could I refuse? What with being volunteered and all :p I remember one issue we had last time was people stopped taking the top player, and started filling out a roster, fantasy style. I hope that doesn't happen this time.
  22. I second IKEA. It's not what you'd want in your dream home, nor is it likely to last 20 years and 4 moves. But I think it's pretty perfect for just starting out when you want something that looks nice and won't break the bank. Separately, today I encountered road closures due to flash flooding for the first time in my life. Hooray for a 20 minute commute taking an hour!
  23. Only a $5.3M AAV? Gah! I don't have an issue with Risto's deal per se, but between the Lindolm deal and now this, I think there's a reasonable argument to be made that Risto got more than he should have.
