Probably right. I hate my team.

I 100% thought this was an intentional butchering of Franson's name.

Jack Eichel Contract Extension: Talks Occuring
TrueBlueGED replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
My reading of your posts leads me to believe if he earns $10 million in your eyes, he'll actually get something like $12 million, and you'll still be dissatisfied because he's making essentially as much as McDavid. Fair? -
I formally object to you trading my quarterback.
-
11th??!?!?! I quit. I hate being at the end of the snake. At least I'll have time to do homework in between picks?
-
After a really poor season last year, I'm here to regain my dignity. Even if I fail, I'm still ahead of WildCard, who never had any dignity in the first place.
-
I'll take the under on that. Even if they keep all the picks, they're not hitting on all of 'em.
-
Playoff caliber baby!! The windows even say so! Sorry, I can't help it. I know plenty of people like him, but the McDermott cliches combined with moves actively making the team worse are killing me. I feel like they're being fundamentally dishonest, and it's gotten to me. Which is odd, because I usually don't give a hoot what teams say publicly. But this whole thing just irks me, and I don't have an especially logical explanation as to why. I haven't been this pessimistic about the Bills since Jauron was brought back for year 3...which, coincidentally, is when I canceled my season tickets.
-
Blame McDermott for selling the idea they're trying to win this year ;) The team as it stands, and taking into account the moves, are in no-man's land. Doesn't mean things won't work out long term, but I'm also not buying the idea of any grand plan--they seem to be making moves as they come along just like every other Bills regime in memory. Tanking with dignity, if you will :w00t:
-
I think this is one of the very few things that ends pretty black and white: either you and the "brilliant move to wait until the 'better' QB class" crew are proven quite right, or me and the "projecting next year's QB class a year in advance is a fool's errand, should have taken someone this year" crew is.

Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch
TrueBlueGED replied to Sabres Fan in NS's topic in The Aud Club
This sounds great, until we find out Rey is a Kenobi and Snoke trained Sidious, and...wait for it...the Empire-ish force has another Death Star-ish thing! :p -
I remain completely unimpressed with what the Bills are doing. For every smart move, they do something dumb.
-
I've been busy! Actually it's more that the Bills have throttled my enthusiasm for sports this summer, and the Bills thread here has been hijacked by TBD-style discourse (even though I agree with some of what has been said).
-
If your top 3 lines are centered by Eichel, Tavares, and O'Reilly, I don't think depth is all that important. I'm not sure the money ultimately makes sense, but the idea of adding Tavares as a UFA and trading other forwards for further shore up the D is intriguing. That said... The idea of trading that package for just a #4 makes me more than a little nauseated.

Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch

So I finished The Defenders, and I loved it. Though, Iron Fist remains the shittiest character in existence. -
On the bright side, at least we didn't draft Blake Bortles 3rd overall. Woof. Of course, we may have a chance at the next Blake Bortles...
-
This belongs in the awesome thread
-
19,eh? Well, his development is doomed
-
Not when that contract is for a player as good as Pastrnak. Though it likely would stamp Kane's ticket out of Buffalo, one way or another. I mean, I'd agree, but they did trade Seguin and Hamilton. Sliver of hope?
-
So you honestly believe that "it's a great move" is the only valid view on the matter? One cannot reasonably argue to the contrary?
-
Because it implies that any opinion other than "it was a great move" is factually and proveably wrong. I'd say 12 or 13. Anyway, the trades made the team worse for the sake of a future draft. They were tank moves in the sense that the team deliberately decided to do it one freaking month before the season. And now I'm even more annoyed. It's like there was no central plan here at all, they're just doing things as they come. Bleh.
-
No, it is not. Because trading your best players for downgrades and draft picks makes you worse.
-
Right. But Liger said he wouldn't trade any of our best assets, which I take issue with.
-
I'm not sure you appreciate how good Pastrnak is. You're going to have to part with a prime asset for him...and he'd be worth it.
-
2? That price would be far above what other star players have been traded for recently.
