  1. While this is still true, we've gotten Price before, and both Price and Niemi have been equally bad this season, more or less. Same story for Pittsburgh and Winnipeg - we got the "backup goalie" that has been performing way better than struggling "starters." And it makes sense for Montreal. Niemi held us to 4 goals. Price gave up 6 to us.
  2. This is confusing the hell out of me as well. The "tank" for Dahlin was the year we were supposed to lose in the cup final in the original tank plans.
  3. Yeah, that poster did say this season if I'm reading it right.
  4. Yeah, he and Bogo are playing out their deals. What happens with Scandy after the deal depends on what Sabres defensemen like Dahlin, Risto, Pilut, McCabe, Guhle etc. show between now and the end of next season, as well as what trades/UFA D come available and get pounced on by us between now and then.
  5. I saw Flyers fans wearing them over their Flyers gear. Mine is definitely coming back to OK with me.
  6. True, though if Scandy is back you have to send him down to play in Roch. Friday night, right?
  7. Dahlin's one-timer on the PP that led to Rodrigues' goal was his best slap shot/one-timer of the year. He labeled it and kept it low.
  8. The Canucks are, I believe, 0-5-1 since we beat them coming back from down 2 with 2 minutes left.
  9. Also, I feel like this guy is going to play Friday. Tough to picture them calling him, and not Tennyson, up to sit.
  10. Not really, unless you think that literally everything is going perfectly and that's why you're winning! Though I guess it's kinda hard to bring up things you don't like on a message board when teams are doing well. People don't really like it. I'm fine with playing Tage when one forward is injured, but even if he plays every game as well as he played the last two, he's the 13th best forward up on the big club right now and I'd like to see Berglund play in his spot. Another Tage line spent less than 25% of the time in the o-zone last night. That's just not gonna work long-term. But since I didn't see the game in a "thinking" mood, and thought he looked fine from what I could see, I won't be too hard on him in a game where he got a big goal. If the guy can keep this up for another two weeks, then he belongs. I wonder what kind of drills they do to simulate/work on board battles. I think he needs to do those drills about a million times.
  11. I think he can lock down the 2nd line with McCabe for a long time. I'm really high on him.
  12. It's so good to see Larsson playing like he did down the stretch in 15-16. You don't need to constantly fret about replacing that player.
  13. And if Tage has 3 more good games in a row, I'll stop complaining about him. Nice goal. His stinky stats otherwise in this one are more a product of the team sitting back and him starting in the d-zone from what I could tell than from his own play.
  14. Thank god we tanked, otherwise we couldn't have traded Pu for Skinner, a 4th for Sheary, or signed Carter Hutton
  15. Anyone have video of that McCabe hit at the end? And Gudas did SOMETHING to Dahlin. Dahlin gave him a pretty vicious slash back. The ref let it all go. Didn't catch the first thing. The first period was electric. Best atmosphere for a game I've been to ever. The second and third were stinkers. I had Flyers fans around me. I fell on top of one trying to catch some socks from Sabretooth. The DJ thing they have going on there is dreadful. I think the arena was the loudest groaning after Risto's shot just barely trickled wide. I looked at my girlfriend and we were just like "woah." Not because of the chance, because of the noise. For reference, the two games I've been to with her were the 3-1 loss against Arizona last March, and the 3-2 loss against the Islanders the April before. Larry's snipe was just sick. The fight was fun too. It is a lot harder to analyze games live, but it's way more fun to watch 'em that way. I thought Jack had a meh game, but I think he needs an assist on that first goal, no Flyer had possession/control or anything. His effort at the end was brilliant. The Sam-Tage-Sobotka line was quite bad after a strong showing in Pitt, but I don't think any one particular member was bad. They just struggled a lot as a group against a Flyers team that woke up for two periods we were content to sit back through. I hate the Flyers. They're the only team I've seen us play in the playoffs more than once. Go Sabres! WE WANT 8! Also, heard an "OOH, AH, SABRES ON THE WARPATH" thing going pretty strong after the game.
  16. I read that Pilut is on pace for the most points for an AHL defenseman ever. Not sure if true.
  17. They didn't factor in those, or hockey, or analytics, or anything else either, IMO.
  18. A goal gets a huge boost if it's scored by Jack for me. I'm not voting for anyone but him. So maybe I shouldn't partake?
  19. I've seen you talk a lot about Pominville needing the spell but going right back to line 1 after a couple teams. I don't think I've seen anyone else have quite the same idea. And it worked just like you said it would when he first started tailing off a few games before being moved off.
  20. Hey let's sign this guy BTW
  21. The power play spot that has bounced between Berglund, Casey, Kyle, and now ERod is going to be a sore spot for a while. Hopefully next year Casey makes it the most dangerous spot on the ice.
  22. As long as it's not our big guns getting hurt, I could easily see guys like Smith/Nylander/Olofsson and Pilut/Guhle being just as good as guys they replace.
