Well, maybe he didn't before, but it does seem that the last 1 year deal brought to Sam by Adams last October was the last straw in a long line of bridge deals. I think Sam would have committed long term after his ELC, or after a first 2 year bridge. Where did you hear Sam wants $9M?

The condition is not a real issue. It will not be top 10, well extremely unlikely anyway. They obviously think very highly of Levi. He showed well in the WJC. I do believe that the Sabres hands were tied and Sam told them I will sign in a year with either Vancouver, or Seattle, when I am UFA. Sam was jerked around by the Sabres, IMO.

He is a good player and he is playing for his first UFA contract at that time. I don't think his mind flipped either. I think he stated this much even at the start of last season. I think he was pissed with all the bridge deal stuff too.
