The thread title now better reflects the reality of what happened at the presser. KA had to answer a direct question concerning the captaincy. I think he could have worded it a bit better, but he could not escape the room without giving an answer to it. John was not going to be playing, so it is reasonable that he would not be wearing the 'C', but Mogilny temporarily wore the 'C' when Lafontaine was injured. It did not mean that Patty was not captain. So, I agree with @darksabre in that he could have said that since John is not playing the coaching staff will look at having another player wear the 'C', or something like that. It's a hard situation though and I think the question could have been handled better, but I also think it's time to move on.

Rasmus Dahlin signs 3 years 6 Million AAV Contract with Sabres

Huh? Obviously, they couldn't when Dahlin said no long-term deal. I have to assume the Sabres wanted to go for 8. -
Rasmus Dahlin signs 3 years 6 Million AAV Contract with Sabres
Sabres Fan in NS replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I have been very clear and upfront on my desire for the Sabres to sign him long-term. 8 x $8 or $9 will be a bargain by year 3. I have to assume that the Sabres wanted to do the 8 year thing, but Dahlin and his agent said 'stop the bus'. If they do not attempt to sign him to an extension at the end of year 2 I expect Dahlin to leave at the first opportunity. They could have bought 4 UFA years here. 3 years is only very slightly better than a 4 year deal. If they could not convince him to do 8 years the Sabres should have gone for 2 years, although I don't like that much either. I really am fearful that this will come back to bit the Sabres in the ass. -
Ahhhh-tumn starts tomorrow. What do you love about it?
Sabres Fan in NS replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
The crisp air, but still warm in the sun. The crisper apples. The colour of the leaves. The start of fire season. The cool evenings and overnights. Planting bulbs that will be a beautiful and welcome sight come spring. My birthday is in October. We were married in October. -
Jack Eichel: Trade rumors and speculation

You just proved your first point. 'Buffalo loves to run people out' = crap. -
That's what he / she said ... @Wilbur sighting !!

What do you expect from: #15 John Hayden?

So, in other words, you have no opinion on this guy, eh? -
Your hot takes, which were never very warm really, are ice cold now. What @inkman said.

Jack Eichel: Trade rumors and speculation

I understand that. My opinion is that you made your main point very clearly and very goodly (😎) and you didn't need the last sentence, which is hearsay at best. -
Today is the big day. We should have a pretty good idea what's happening by midnight (NS time). This is gonna be a close one, if we trust the polls. I have a bad feeling about this one. On the one hand I an sick and tired of Trudeau, but am not very comfortable with the other guy. If enough voters in Quebec vote for the Bloc at the expense of the Liberals and if enough voters in the suburban Greater Satan Area turn their backs on Trudeau the other guy will win. If enough votes change in Ontario and Atlantic Canada the other guy will win in a landslide and it really will be the end of Trudeau, as he would never want to be opposition leader after being PM. I want Trudeau gone, but I don't want that other guy in either. Only Mr. Singh can save us now.

Great news and great photo. Next time stick your thumb in it for perspective, eh. I'm guessing 6.5 inches.

I agree with everything in this post. Except the completely unfounded and unneeded last sentence. If you care to edit that out I will delete this post. -
35 - 0 Bottom line. I don't care if JA sat sulking and sucked his thumb all afternoon, just like John does.

What do you expect from: #15 John Hayden?
Sabres Fan in NS replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
Fair enough. Your delivery was, shall I say, suspect. I agree on any other team this guy is a JAG, but on this Sabre team this guy is something. I don't expect much either, but he definately has a role to play on this Sabre team. I think it's an important role this year. I think he will play his part well. So, in that sense I expect a lot from him. It's just a matter of perspective. -

What do you expect from: #15 John Hayden?
Sabres Fan in NS replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
He will contribute a handful of minutes (about 10, or so) each game on the 4th line. He has a role to play as a hard to play against guy who will stand up for his teammates. It's an important role on this Sabre team. Therefore, voted option #1. Speaking of which ... make sure you do today if you have not done so yet. And if you have already vote again. -
What do you expect from: #13 Mark Pysyk?
Sabres Fan in NS replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
I'd say bottom 2, who could move up a bit in an injury pinch. -

@MODO Hockey is a good guy and has been through a lot. His mom died of cancer pretty recently. He loved Linus and has followed him his whole career. He became a Sabre fan because Linus was a Sabre. He travelled from Sweden to Buffalo and Rochester and is an all round great guy. He wore his heart on his sleve and the departure of Linus was just the final straw that broke him and he likely not only left this message board, but probably the Sabres fandom as well. It's not a big deal that he left the board really, but he was a good contributer here and will be missed. I don't think we should be making light of it.
