If hell freezes over and the Sabres DO make the playoffs...

The equilibrium in WNY feels off. I'm blaming Ed Kilgore. -

BTW check out the shot at 1:44  -
 We've known each other way too long, friends.

We'd be deeper than Elmira though.
-
Kassian on the Sabres and Rolston would be making lines out of Ennis, Hecht, Porter, and Adam at center. The Syracuse Crunch might be deeper down the middle.

You should have consulted us before making this decision. Between you cancelling and me trying out a new parking spot, the future is uncertain. -
 Modern technology has a filter. "B-rod" in the filter could become "The Great Magnifico!!!!! Woo-hooo!!"

I'm against any name that can be pronounced 5 different ways in the same highlight reel. Roo-weed-dal Ruh-ah-dell Row-wah-dle They will probably give him a number like #86. -

"Zut alors!! If they keep their sticks on the ice when we try to score, we will reciprocate! Sacré Coeur!"

a backcheck. :) (really not fair for me to comment, I've never seen much hockey in the Q)

I didn't think I would be.....but I would be warm to the idea. This team has no veteran depth at center, no scoring on the PP, an inability to get inside, poor passing in the offensive zone, and needs short term solutions until the cheese matures, and would require no additional assets to obtain. If the Sabres could get .5 pts a game out of him, why not?

You're the best.

That's the way to do it! I should try the same thing. (telling myself)

If bought out, I don't think he'd retire yet.

http://www.usatoday....buyout/2077547/ There are rumblings out of Philly that 35 year old Briere (who'll be 36 next October is a buyout candidate). Looking at his work soberly...and the condition of the current Sabres special teams, would you want an elderly Briere back in blue and gold in a diminished and more specialized roll? Some pros Power play help Some center depth as kids mature Leadership Can win some draws though never dominant He might come at a nice price Shootout help Right-handed shot Some cons Always a defensive liability Age Injuries may have added up He's no bigger than last time and probably a step slower I don't think we'd see the Briere of old, but we might see some flashes of it. Of course it would all depend on a Philly buyout.....but would you mind bringing out the old jersey?

If they had figured out a way to keep Zubrus for 07-08, that was probably the difference for a playoff spot. -

50 shades of Steve Ott. -
He did look hurt. Man.

Rolston. I feel a little sorry for him. He doesn't have much to work with in creating lines. I haven't really seen anything that makes me want to remove the Interim label however. He's basically tried to simplify, and improve pace. I haven't seen much of what I could point to and call it progress. , As far as finding somebody else.....there is no hurry. GM's will shuffle coaches when the season ends soon and it'll be a buyers market for NHL and AHL coaches.

It reminded me of what the 2006 Sabres did to the Flyers....that's pretty much what the Habs did to the 2013 Sabres.

Montreal is what the Sabres used to be.....small, fast and skilled at forward and mobile and puck-moving on the back-end. Able to roll lines. Let's face it, they are tiny - I'd be surprised if any of the following are actually 5'9" - Gionta, Desharnais, Plecanec, Gallagher, Bullion (forgive spelling). Markov's recovery is a sports miracle. He's my Norris candidate. And a defense that can full-court press on But over 2 games...what is that? Buffalo has been out-shot by 80 to 30. Crazy numbers.

Montreal is really good. Buffalo was just over-matched. The game just got away. But that is pretty much were the bar is. Montreal is a good team. That's how far we are off.
